If You Dont Swaddle

What does LO sleep in?

Baby D has decided that he hates the swaddle. He'll fight it and wake himself up often. This is true in both the halo sleep sack swaddle and swaddle blankets.

If I didn't swaddle, I'd probably put him in a cotton sleeper and then a fleece sleep sack. Its fairly cold here and I'm worried about him being warm enough

  • We have the blanket the hospital gave us tucked tightly in the sides of his crib. When he kicks at night the blanket doesn't move
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Either a sleep gown or jammies with a fleece sleep sack over it.

What about his arms? I hate it when he gets out of the swaddle and his poor little hands are freezing. We've had no luck with mittens tho

No sorry should have added a long sleeve sleeper with the sleep sack over that. Her arms are fully covered from the sleeper outfit

  • I like sleepers, but she always fights putting her legs in the footy part. Such a pita in the.middle of the night.

  • When it gets cold here we do footed sleepers but our LO is warm natured and doesn't need much to stay toasty!

  • My little one has never liked to be swaddled. Even at te hospital she kicked and screamed until she worked her way out of it. She sleeps in a sleeper with the hand cuffs over her hands and with a blanket wrapped around her (not too tight). We can change the temp in each room in our house so we keep whatever room she is in at 75 degrees.

  • He moves his arms like crazy even when he was swaddled. We use mittens and don't have a problem with them
  • Sleep sacks with cotton sleepers under.

  • Carter's gown with a Carter's sleep sack over (they have long sleeves).

I put my son in a long sleeved onsie that has the hand cuffs so he doesn't scratch his face at night, then I put a fleece halo sleep sack on top. I don't swaddle his hands in because he doesn't like that. I keep my house at 72 degrees and he seems to always be nice and cozy with that.

Exactly this. He always seems plenty warm and its not a thousands layers to navigate for a diaper change.

The outfits with the built in hand covers are your friend on cold nights.

Love them ... only have two tho. Might have to do some shopping!

  • My LO hates being swaddled with her arms tucked in as she loves to have them by her face, so we just use the swaddleme sleep sacks over a long sleeve sleeper and swaddle beneath her arms. Works great for us.

Sounds like this is what I'm going with tonight. We've got to get some sleep that doesn't involve a swaddle fight!

  • We do a long sleeve onesie with either the sleep sack (I leave his arms out and Velcro around his chest) or we put him in a fleece sleeper with the long sleeve onesie.

  • Cotton sleeper with fleece sleep sack, fleece sleeper with cotton sleep sack, or a swaddle with arms out.

  • I think my LO is the only one who doesn't sleep in a crib from reading this post!  She wears a onesie under a sleeper and I tuck a blankie under her from the armpits down, but she sleeps in the rock n play.  She HATES her arms tucked.  I think she's cozy anyway, we keep it on 72 at night for her.

I'd love for her to sleep in the crib because I've yet to use her sleep sack!

Warm fuzzy socks. They are more snug. And warmer.

She's either in a fleece footed sleeper or a fleece sleeper sack thing. It has arms, zips up, and is closed at the bottom...

If I put her in a sleep sack like you described i pair it with long sleeve cotton pajamas or a onesie.

Or I put her in a cotton halo swaddle sack but don't swaddle the arms and pair that with fleece pajamas so her arms stay warm.
