Anyone use Nair down there?

Okay shaving is just becoming unbearable. Don't get me wrong, I don't do it regularly at all (poor DH) but I like to clean up for OB appts. and simply when I'm just feeling too gross. I'm too chicken to start waxing while pregnant, I've never done it before. Sooo just thinking would Nair or Veet work? I bought the sensitive skin bikini lotion and was just wondering if anyone else had good results?

Re: Anyone use Nair down there?

  • I'm 99% sure Nair is not to be used down there! Maybe for the edges but not the full monte.... What area are you wanting to cover? Fwiw, I get waxed and it's not that bad. Definitely worth it for how long out lasts

I get a rash from Nair when I'm not pregnant... so I can't even imagine how sensitive I'd be to it now. I'd stick with shaving and/or waxing.  Remember if you have never waxed before to go in with at least a couple weeks' growth, otherwise there isn't enough hair for the wax to grab onto, and they have to keep at it (I learned this lesson the hard way).

  • I started waxing since getting pregnant. I will never go back to shaving down there
  • Waxing pain is short and brief...nothing compared to upcoming labor and delivery! Pain is temporary!
  • I've used Nair with no issues. It doesn't do a clean job for me though. I have to shave in addition but it's softened and thinned.
  • The way stuff like Nair works is by essentially melting the hair away with a ton of chemicals. But as it melts the hair, it also melts some skin. Which is why people are often very irritated after use. I've been lasered and it's absolutely worth it.
  • Really good advice ladies, thank you! I'm thinking I will just tough out the shaving for now, and will probably start getting waxed after the baby is born.
