Supply issue??

So I've always had a decent supply and Layla has always nursed really well.
I was throwing up all last night and this morning and was just starting to keep water down about noon today. This evening, Layla hasn't really wanted to eat much and seems frustrated at the breast. Do you think my supply could be affected so soon? Now that I can keep water down, I'm drinking a lot, as well as coconut water since I'm dehydrated. I haven't been able to eat much today either.
I'm not sure if its the flu or the food I ate yesterday, which was very rich/sweet...not what my body is use to. Hoping it was just the food...I'd feel awful if I got her sick. (Hoping that's not shy she isn't eating!)

Sorry- this kind of turned into a dear diary post. Here's to hoping my supply isn't going down...especially since she won't take a bottle!

Re: Supply issue??

  • Tmi, but I had diarrhea recently and wasn't able to pump as much that day as I usually do. It went back to normal when I was feeling better the next day. Just keep your fluids up. Hope you feel better

  • Yes, unfortunately your supply can drop quickly. Especially if throwing up. Keep up those fluids like it's going out of style! Power pump if you can.

I had a scare last weekend and it was not fun at all. After some hard work (3days) worth I was back to normal. Hope it comes back quickly!

  • I had a stomach bug earlier in the week. It passed quickly but my supply tanked. It came back up though.

  • I had the same issue a few weeks ago, it might sound weird but I drank sports drinks (powerade) and it really seemed to help. Electrolytes and all that, whoo!

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • I had a temp (about 101) for three days and my supply went down.
