Hello,
This is my first round of clomid and HCG trigger shot, and I am now 4 days past my trigger shot and my BBT temperature has not risen. I'm worried I did not ovulate. I had 3 mature follies at my ultrasound when I was given the trigger shot. Is there any other way I can confirm ovulation at this point?? Should I ask my doctor for an ultrasound at this point? Would that be able to confirm ovulation now four days later?
I am supposed to start taking progesterone supplements but I am worried they will prevent ovulation if I haven't ovulated yet. Also, if the only other way to tell if I ovulated is to test P4 progesterone level at day 21, then should I not take the progesterone? (I had 13.7 ng/mL Day 21 progesterone on a natural cycle but the doc wanted me to take it just cover all bases, so i'm not really sure its necessary anyways)
Any advise or past experience would be appreciated!! Thank you!!
Re: No BBT rise 4 days after Trigger shot, no ovulation??
Just talked to my doctor and they said "If I took the trigger shot, they are sure I ovulated." Said that a ultrasound would not be able to tell anything. And I could take a day 21 progesterone test if I wanted....but they don't think i need to. Not very helpful. At a loss. They also said everyone takes the progesterone supplements so I should just start them. Ugg...
I'm still on the fence about taking the progesterone. May not take it and just do the day 21 test for this cycle to try and figure out whats going on so that I can have more information for next cycle if needed. Any thoughts, experience or opinions?
The various meds impact your BBT (some make it go higher, some make it go lower) so you won't get an accurate reading while on IF drugs. I temped during my first cycle to see what it would look like and it was all over the place.
In regards to the progesterone, most RE do put their patients on progesterone for the 2 WW to help maintain a good lining. Some of it is dependant on diagnosis (so please take some time to create a ticker so we can know more about you and your situation). Personally, mine automatically put me on it due to PCOS. Also, clomid can (and frequently does) thin your lining.
