Re: No nail biting club

  • Omg I need to sooo bad! For some reason I could stop when pregnant, I think bc they were stronger and didn't break. My best friends wedding is less than 2 Wks away and I've been trying very hard to stop so they look decent!

  • Present. Ugh, my nails look like poo. With the stress from DH being away, marriage woes, my neck going out, and being sick, I gave up. I need to get back to it.

DH bought me some kind of bitter nail polish stuff but it didn't taste like anything. I forgot I even put it on. Painting my nails seems to work, but I literally have to do it every day so that I don't bite when they chip! Who's got time for that!?

  • Like I said in the other thread, I haven't bitten in about 3 weeks, but I still chew on my fingers around the nails.

I can link back when it all started for me- in preschool I used to always have dirt under my fingernails and they would make me soak my hands in the sink to clean them.  I was missing out on the fun the other kids were having so I started to bite my nails to avoid this.  It has spiraled from then.

YES! I hate when they chip.  It makes me peel off all the polish and then I start biting. I do think my nail biting has some sort of OCD component because once I start I can't stop until they feel a certain way to me.  It's hard to explain but maybe others understand.

I definitely need to join. I have my nails done every two weeks because I was bitting them so bad, to the point that they would bleed sometimes. I still bite them but it takes me a bit to get through the acrylic when I'm super stressed  I i can bite right through the acrylic like its not there. I have to say that the acrylic slows me down though

I completely understand!!!!! I def have some OCD issues.

I remember being in kindergarten and being sad that the one girl had beautiful nails and I didn't. :(

My hypothyroidism makes my nails so brittle. The meds for the hypothyroidism make me anxious. It's a bad cycle of biting my nails off!

That's what my nails were like 3 weeks ago, I was doing okay but then with my mom being sick I just didn't care and went at them like crazy.

Mine look like this right now. I'm struggling with simple tasks using my hands because the corners hurt so bad :(
