Weird craving? 3 gallons of milk a week!

Anyone else want to drink milk like crazy? And it must be 2%, skim is gross. Just H and I drink 3+ gallons of milk a week now. Some of the best foods go great with milk though... Oreos, cake, donuts...

  • I'll have to look up of you can possibly take too much calcium and maybe add in a supplement. Baby girl will have strong bones at this rate :)
  • I go through that much too I can't get enough!!

  • I'm in the same boat, I myself have been drinking a gallon almost every 3rd day. Dr said milk is extremely good for both me and baby, so drink away!
  • I'm with you. I HATE milk normally but have been going through 2 gallons all by myself (SO is lactose). I'm guessing LO just wants it. so I go with it.

  • I've been making chocolate milk like crazy the past 2 weeks. Milk is expensive!!

  • We were going though 2.5-3 gallons a week for first 6 months, then I tested high for gestational diabetes and just 4oz will blow my sugars out the water so no more milk for me :( very sad. First post partum snack will be double stuffed Oreos with HUGE glass of milk !!

The last 2-3 weeks I could not get enough chocolate milk. I wanted chocolate milk with everything. frikkin. thing. I've never been a milk drinker nor is the rest of the fam-bam, so it was pretty crazy when one week I cleared 2 gallons by myself, haha. Then wondered why I couldn't poop :-/

DH and I normally go through 3+ gallons of milk a week. But I also grew up with a rule that we drank nothing but milk at dinner. I still follow this rule and DH has also taken it on. We plan to raise our kids with this rule too.

I was raised the same way. DH will only have milk in his cereal and he gives the cats whatever is left in the bowl when his cereal is gone. But my son and I still follow this rule and so will Ds2.
  • Yes I have been been drinking milk all day for the past 2 weeks. I am 34 weeks right now it's so weird.
  • We've gone from 1 gallon to 2 gallons a week. Love the cow juice!

  • I go through about a gallon of milk a week by myself. It's not as bad as it was about a month ago, but that's all I wanted....and ice cream, of course!

  • I love milk.  I only drink two 8 oz glasses a day right now because of GD.  My husband and I go through a gallon a week.  Milk and water have always been my go to drinks.  I have been craving chocolate milk a lot this pregnancy, which I can't have much of anymore because of GD. However, if I plan smart (i.e. eat a salad and chicken)  I can usually have a pint of chocolate milk without any effect on my blood sugar.

  • I can't imagine going without milk! Bummer. I've always been a big milk drinker but for sure have upped my consumption since the pregnancy started.
  • I drink a lot of milk normally but we're definitely going through even more of it at the moment. I just had a glass of milk and more cereal as my 11s :)
  • I hate water so milk is my go to we've been at 3-5 gallons a week since I found out i was pregnant!

This was a rule when I was growing up too! My husband doesn't care for milk, but I have at least one glass every night with dinner. We've always gone through at least two gallons a week, even before I was pregnant.
I remember pizza night was extra special! We only had to have 1 glass and then we could have water or juice but never pop unless we were out to eat.

  • I love milk and have always had at least 1 glass a day.  Now every morning I have a glass of chocolate milk with breakfast.  I also love me some oreos and milk.  Yum!!!  Between DS and I, we go through about 2 gallons a week.
