Carseat Canopy...

Anybody buy one? Seems like a good idea to keep a blanket over him when we're out and about. I always get nervous that just a blanket thrown over the seat will slide down somehow.

Anyway, if you have one, where did you get it?

BTW, I don't mean the fleece ones like the JJ Cole ones. I mean the ones like this...https://www.etsy.com/shop/BabyBundlesandBows?ref=l2-shopheader-name

Re: Carseat Canopy...

  • We don't really need super warmth...I mean, we live in AL. It gets cold, but it's not below freezing like every day in the winter. I think the bundle me thing will be an overkill.
  • Loading the player...
  • I used one with DS. It worked well to keep the wind off of him.

I ordered one but it hasn't come in yet from carseatcanopy.com

Just ordered this today.... How long have you been waiting for yours?
  • We got a Cozy Cover. They are only about 11 bucks at Wal Mart.
    Little one is here.
  • I bought one from etsy to use when we are out to keep germs away!

  • I need to buy one. It's not super cold here, but it's really rainy so I want lo to be covered up!

  • I've never used one, but my sister uses one on my nephew's seat.  I'm assuming she likes it, since she hasn't taken it off since the day he was born.  She got it from carseatcanopy.com.

Just to clarify, she didn't buy all the ad-ons, just the canopy itself.

  • I made 2. A fleece one for winter and a cotton one for spring/summer.
    Lilypie Second Birthday tickers
  • I got mine a few days ago from carseatcanopy.com and only had to pay $12.95 shipping
  • I bought one for my daughter and used it all the time! Loved it!
  • Got mine from once upon a child. Hoping it will keep random people from touching when we are out and about! We shall see
  • Of all those "free item when you pay shipping" things, the carseat canopy is the only one I feel is good quality. The nursing pillow, cover, and sling are kinda cheap (pillow not so bad) but I'm glad I got the carseat canopy.

  • I was going to sew my own, but ended up getting a homemade one as a gift.

    I'd get one off etsy.

  • We got one as a gift with DS and we used it a lot when the weather was cold. I have seen promo codes in several magazines for them. They are super easy to make too! My mom used ours as a pattern to make one for my brother's baby. We definitely plan to use ours again.

  • I hadn't thought of this yet, I just used a blanket with DD when she was little. Although, the ones I'm looking at on your link are making me want to buy one because they are so cute!

We don't get a lot of cold weather here in FL either, but it would be nice to have one like this I think.

  • I also got the Carseatcanopy.com $12.95 one, and it seems to be pretty good quality unlike the sling. They have some nice patterns too.

  • Yes I got one for free with the promo codes from carseatcanopy.com.  It's really cute, I like it!
  • The car seat canopy and a lot of them are just one thin sheet of cotton that don't do anything for warmth, FYI, but are good for keeping wind off to some degree and mostly for keeping the sun and prying hands/eyes out. The one you linked has a nice minky lining that will add a bit of warmth, which will probably be more useful for ya.

I got the car seat canopy. It has a minky lining and is pretty warm. I think the quality is pretty good :)

I wonder how safe these are though. Is baby getting enough air under there? Am I being paranoid?
  • My mom ordered one off of fashion fairytales on etsy. Very cute and durable. Thank gosh she didn't order a chevron pattern, I saw at least 4 chevron canopies at the mall this weekend.
  • I ordered one cheap on eBay that someone made so cute!!!

The one I'm looking at can be unsnapped in the front, but I don't see how they aren't getting air...they're just sort of placed on the top of the seat, there isn't anything sticking it to the sides of the seat? KWIM?
  • I have the one from carseatcanopy.com.  I think it's great.  I don't know why so many people complain about them.
