Re: ~~Second Tri Check-in~~ 11/19/13

  • I am 22 weeks. Had another ultrasound this past Monday to check the cervix and fluid levels. Everything looked good. My peri then said that everything looking good doesn't predict anything and to report to L & D if I feel something isn't right.

QOTD: I am a physical therapist. I am off work due to the pregnancy and unsure when I'll be going back. Before finding out about the triplets I had just intended to take a year off. Now, it makes no sense for me to go back and pay for 4 kids in childcare. Hoping to work part-time after about 2 years or so to keep my license active.

In my 17th week!  I am currently switching OBs.  This Friday I have my first appointment with my new OB.   Then I am have an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday with my old MFM.  Hopefully this will be the last time I have to go to their office.

I started having ultrasounds every two weeks because of the mono-di pregnancy, and am looking forward to every week passing.   I still have not told many people I am pregnant yet.  My close friends, family, and a few co-workers know, but I am just not ready for the world to know.   Luckily I don't look pregnant yet!

QOTW:  I work full time as a neurosurgery nurse practitioner.  I have to go back to work full time after the twins come because I earn 85% of our household income and carry the benefits.  It is bittersweet for me.  I enjoy my job, and like my co-workers, but I wish DH was more ambitious and motivated to work.  He works part time as a teacher's assistant, and has no desire to do anything else or work more hours.  He is also not very helpful with DD and household chores/cooking.  We have had many conversations about this, and things are slowly changing.  With twins on the way, and me having to work full time, my biggest concern is DH not stepping up.

I have already lined up daycare/preschool for the twins and DD, so that makes me feel great.  I will be paying for 3 children so I wanted to line up affordable options as soon as possible.
Hats off to you! That's a lot of work, and you seem to be doing very well - that's awesome.

TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --
  • I hope everyone is doing well!

How far along are you this week? 23 weeks

Any appointments or updates? Most recent OB appointment was yesterday- everything looked good. Next appointment is 12/17.

QOTW: What do you do for a day job? I work as an insurance adjuster.

Will this change once your little one arrives? We are in the process of getting HR to approve me working from home after Turtle is born. Fingers crossed it goes through! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  • Hi, all! I'm 26w2d... second tri is winding down, and I'm definitely starting to "feel" like I'm in third tri (lots of aches, pains, and reflux, which are preventing me from sleeping much, for example). My next appointment is about 2 weeks away.

I have a very active little boy in here, and I feel him moving very frequently! Watching my belly move and twitch is a new hobby for me and DH when we lay down at night!

QOTW: I'm a Ph.D. stludent. I will be taking some time off after the baby is born and through the summer, but I plan on finishing my degree and moving on from there.

I currently work in a public accounting firm as an audit manager (licensed CPA).  I defeinitely have to go since I make about 75% of household income.  My firm is amazingly flexible and since I've been here for a while will accomadate a flex schedule.  My plan is to work at home 2 days/wk and hubby will be at home 1 day a week (he works for my firm in the admin group).  The other 2 days will be my in laws/day care.

  • I'm 17 weeks, 4 days, and we have our amnio and anatomy scan with the perinatologist on Friday.  We are excited to see baby and find out his/her gender, but also scared and nervous.  I'm pretty sure I'm starting to feel occasional movement already, since it's easier to recognize this time around after having had DS.

I used to work in human resources, but my job was very stressful - like I worked for a terrible boss who kept getting us sued and the work environment was atrocious.  DH and I felt the stress was not helping our efforts to get (and stay) pregnant.  So I became a SAHM last year, even though DS is in school.  I babysit a little 2-year old girl part-time and have been trying to write a novel for the past year and a half.  But it's pretty slow going lately!  I am excited to be able to stay home with this LO after having gone back to work full-time after having DS.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

  • 27 weeks 3 days! This is my last check in for 2nd trimester. I can't believe I made it this far and have been counting day every single day. Pregnancy is going super well, just have been dealing with PGAL anxiety that has been getting better, thankfully. I see an Mfm every 2 weeks for cervix checks, going for one of those Friday after thanksgiving. But cervix has been great, measuring over 4. Feeling stronger kicks, can see them from outside my belly. There are moments of little movement especially when I am active. Qotw: in pharma sales. Plan on returning after maternity leave. Anticipating that it will be a very hard return, wish I could be a SAHM.

  • My first check-in here!  Yay for the glorious second trimester!  I am due 5/15/13, so I will be 15 weeks tomorrow.  Everything is pretty calm right now.  No appointments for a while, not a whole lot of symptoms, which is also nice!  I finally bought my first maternity pants this weekend :)
QOTD:  I am a pediatrician.  I LOVE my job but after going through so much to get pregnant I am hoping to stay home for a while, maybe six months, and then go back part time.  My husband is military, and we think we are going to get stationed elsewhere this summer, which is terrible timing for a move with a new baby, but great as far as job transitioning goes.  If we stay here I will go back to work after eight weeks but hopefully  part time.

  • I am 24.5 weeks-past V-day! I am beginning to have back pain everyday :( I only have 2 weeks left in 2nd tri.

I am an HR Advisor at an engineering company and my role on the project I am working on ends March 5...right around my due date.  If my company doesn't get more work soon, it is likely I will be laid off because there won't be another project for me to go to.  Either way, I get a maternity leave, but one might be funded more ;)
  • I'm 17 weeks tomorrow -- I can't even believe it. No updates. My next appointment is on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving.

QOTW: I'm a 2nd grade teacher at a Catholic school! I love my job. I've been at this school for 5 years and was pregnant with DD my first year here. I don't want to lose my position. I'll be returning in September next year.

  • I am in my 17th week. I had an OB appt on Monday and the heart rate sounded great. And my first Lyme test came back negative so hopefully the repeats will too!

Qotw- I work as a business manager for a division within a large health system. I will definitely be returning as I earn a larger percentage of our income and I carry the benefits. My husband has a super long commute and tough hours so he is planning to look for something at nights and part time. If that doesn't happen- I have a daycare that my friend uses that is close by as a back up.

Will this change once your little one(s) arrive? Yes! I want to keep working in my field, but the first few weeks / months will be devoted to figuring out motherhood. • Sorry I'm late this week!
I'm 24w5d - past V-Day!  I am feeling well, probably the best I have so far during this pregnancy.  I even ate cereal with milk and Greek yogurt this week - I haven't been able to eat either of those without vomiting until now!  My belly gets sore at night if I don't have a pillow under it, but other than that, I'm good.

I am unemployed right now.  I was working as a product manager for credit cards but got laid off two months ago.  Most likely, I will stay home with the baby once she's born.  I've always wanted to be a SAHM and that seems to be the direction I'm headed!

    PAIF/SAIF welcome!
  • I turned 16 weeks yesterday. Had an OB appointment this week and everything is perfect. I did find out that my blood type is O-, so I'll have to get a shot at 28 weeks and maybe at birth.

QOTW: I supervise foster care caseworkers. I just started at a new agency in June, so I have very little time accumulated to take off. I'll probably have to go back at 6-8weeks after baby arrives, and that's if I can work up to the last minute.

  • I am super late!!!

How far along are you this week? Any appointments or other updates? I am 26w4d today.   My monthly visual field test for the prolactinoma went well.  I have my monthly OB appt tomorrow.   The second tri went by faster than the first for me.  Hopefully the trend will continue.

QOTW: What do you do for a day job? Will this change once your little one(s) arrive?  I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist.  I am still in the fellowship which is 2 years after a general psychiatry residency so I am taking off 3 months and then back to work.  No other choice.  Luckily, my mom works for the school system and is going to come and help out during the summer.

  • I'm 22w3d and feeling great! Aside the from the occasional heartburn, symptoms have been smooth sailing. We had an abnormal NT numbers around 12 weeks and we're very nervous. But, anatomy scan showed that number is back in normal range, panorama test came back all good and this week I just got the all clear from the cardiologist! Looks like I am back on track for a healthy little girl! QOTW: I work as an F&B director for a hotel. I am going to try to go back to work, but with the inconsistent hours and tough physical labor, I don't know how long I'm going to last. I'm going to try to transfer to a more consistent department.
