My least favorite part used to be dealing with intoxicated relatives. We don't do that anymore. Now it's juggling cooking times, starting with when to defrost the turkey.
Because my family used to make such a big deal about Santa at the end of the parade, it has pretty much stuck with me as the best part of Thanksgiving. We went to the parade a few times when I was little, and in the years when we stayed home, my extended family would start pouring in early and we'd all eat breakfast together and watch. It was always so exciting. Nostalgia agrees with you that the parade is my favorite.
Least favorite is cleaning up. For some reason, I am always the one that does it (even when I am the one primarily cooking). It's such a process.
Oh I love the food and cooking it all! I love family time ( of course its just us ) and my daughter is coming !!! My boyfriend is driving the 2 hours tomorrow to get her ... I broke down crying when she said she had no ride home ...
I hate that our thanksgiving has to be Wednesday since we are Walmart people and both of us have to work Thursday! But I do like the bigger paycheck I'll get after and the other incentives they give us for working the holiday!!
My favorite part is the cooking and baking pies. Growing up my mom made everything from scratch: homemade stuffing, massed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, green bean casserole, pies, etc. and I love cooking and baking so I love the excuse to spend 2 days preparing everything.
My least favorite is splitting my time between my and DH's family. We all live ~10 mins from each other and they both always expect us to be both places at once.
I used to never enjoy Thanksgiving - the traveling, the juggling families, the whole idea of a celebration around an animal carcass.. The past couple years we've scaled it back though and now I really enjoy it. It's just immediate family now and no longer focused around meat as half of us are now vegan/vegetarian.
My favorite part is cooking and baking. I normally suck bad at cooking, but for some reason I'm pretty good at making everything I serve for Thanksgiving. And the family time, of course. It's just me, DH and the kids so it's very chill. I think the worst part is probably clean up.
My least favorite is not getting to spend the whole day with my family anymore. DHs parents are divorced and so we are usually stuck splitting holidays between both them and my parents. Everyone loves in the same metro area but at least a 30 minute drive between each family. It sucks.
I love the parade and having a kid who kind of understand the excitement of holidays makes them a million times more fun. Least favorite, in-law drama.

I love the food and being with people from my family who I don't get to see often. I hate juggling two families. We have to put time in at both houses. It would be nice to go to one place (my family's) and just stay there and relax. His family doesn't do anything special or invite other family so it just feels like any other "required" visit.

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is my mom's sweet potatoes! The thing I hate is having to run around town all day to 2-3 different Thanksgiving dinners.

Favorite: The food and spending time with family! Doesn't get much better than that.
Least favorite: Is making the bird. Luckily I don't have to! My vegetarian MIL does a great job and doesn't get as grossed out as I do when it comes to raw meat. Kind of funny.
I love it, straight up. The food, the family, the parade, games. I HATE the football. My mom's b/f tends to have it on allllll daaaaay loooong. Growing up w/ my mom & dad, we never really had it on, so this is a change I've still not adjusted to.

Ohh I forgot about that the Football thing! Growing up my family was never one to watch sports on TV so I never knew it was a thing. My husband has to have it on. It drives me insane. That definitely is my least favorite!
Favorites: food, family, football- in that order. Least favorite: parades, cleanup, and family. Family is such a toss-up for me. I'm a quiet person and I enjoy my personal space a lot. I also don't really do small talk. If I were to just have my little family with DH and DD, and eventually this LO, for Thanskgiving it'd be perfect. Extended family visits are ok, so long as they're in small doses. Unfortunately, they almost never are.
Favorites would be cooking with all of the fabulous ladies in my family and listening to what everyone is thankfull for. Although this year ill probable end up in tears due to these dang preggo hormones.
Dislikes staying in the only hotel in town instead of my cozy bed and dishes, there always a dislike!
I love having thanksgiving at my parents!! I hate when we have to go anywhere other than their house. It just feels so generic to me and I always judge the food when it's not my Dads
This year I'm contributing with a new Brussels sprouts recipe and I'm soooo excited!! I don't know why but I've been craving Brussels sprouts. I'm also excited to watch the parade with DS and make homemade waffles
Favorite: The food, hanging out with my family, watching old movies on TV.
Least Favorite: The clean up. But for the first time ever this year my hubby and I are going to his sister's for Thanksgiving and I'm going to miss my families normal Thanksgiving.
My favorite is just spending time with people. Some years it's just me and my husband. Some years we travel back to see our families. Either way, I just love the time.
Love the sides! But I am not a turkey fan. When it's just us two we do a duck, which I like so much better than turkey!
Favorites: stuffing, pie, stuffing, making pie, eating pie for breakfast the next day, and more stuffing. Never enough stuffing! Also love our family get together - it is nice and small and sane - dad and stepmother, me and dh, brother and his wife. Sometimes a friend or 2 of my dad/stepmother which is nice too; 6 people isn't quite enough to eat all the many dishes we feel we need to cook. dh's family is across 2 oceans so no conflict over where to spend Thanksgiving.
Also on the way back from my dad's we stop at the good Indian grocery store outside of Boston and at Trader Joe's and stock up for the next few months. They're too far away to go to for just a shopping trip so we can really only go when on the way to/from somewhere.
Least favorite: when it's time to pack leftovers to take home with us dh always says yes take turkey and wants more than I initially pack. Then when we get home he never eats it (we both hate the smell of reheated turkey, though it tastes OK). So then I have to eat it because I hate wasting food but really I just don't like turkey that much. And this year he's obsessing about me needing to eat more protein so will really be pushing the turkey, and I suppose I'm probably not supposed to eat leftover turkey cold this year? hmmm.
Other least favorite ... conflict involved in trying to get out of the house as early as dh wants to Weds. AM to get through Boston before traffic time. And this year it will be raining or wintry mixing on the drive. oh well.

Fav: cooking- I'm a chef so I love creating new spins on recipes and making lots of food and enjoying it with family!
Least: if I am with my mom she gets on my case about making too much food, using too much salt/butter/blah and criticizes so it's more stressfull and then comments when anyone takes seconds and on what they are eating. I also HATE the football- But I have a football obsessed DH and his family is as well so I have to deal with it every damn Sunday anyways
My favorite is most of the food and football!! I get overwhelmed with a lot of family and millions of kids running around screaming, so I don't love that part. I also hate that were expected to be 2 places and once. Ugh also I know my sils kids have lice right now, as they pretty much always do because she's to lazy to really take care of it, and they just go over to other peoples houses and hang their coats with everyones and rub their heads all over the furniture. Its so fucking gross, and she doesn't think its a big deal.
Favorite: I love love love the food! I'm struggling with food a little right now, and I can't eat big portions anymore (which has really helped with the weight gain) so I'm worried that I won't be able to eat everything I want! haha.
Least Favorite: I have a love/hate relationship with family time for sure. I love my family and my ILs, but it's rough. I feel like the thing I was LEAST prepared for when I got married was to split holidays. Last year we spend Thursday with DH's family and I was pretty sad about it, even though we had dinner with my family on Saturday. This year we're doing Thursday with my family which is great, but my dad and my grandma do NOT get along (in like a super unspoken passive-aggressive sort of way) so he's always really grumpy after which sucks too...
Favorite part: Food and family Least: Staying up way past my bed time. We have a big Italian family, these holidays usually wrap up about 1am. But not for me this year! I am heading home "early."

My first favorite part is watching the marching bands in the parade, if I get up in time. I was in marching band when I was in school so I'm a tad partial, LOL!
My other favorite part is parking my fat-and-happy-with-a-full-belly ass in front of the TV to watch football for the rest of the day.
My first least favorite part is deciding where we will go, my family or the IL's. We're not always home for Thanksgiving, and we usually decide where to go based on what we feel like. Last year we were with the IL's at their cousin's house. This year, MIL is getting a new oven and will probably cook. She almost tried to get us to host (we held our ground because we got back in town a week ago and aren't ready to host such a full dinner), so now she might 'expect' us because she was already trying to tie us in to the holiday? But since we were with them last year, we might go to my parents' house.
The other least favorite part is lack of leftovers, since we usually go somewhere.

Re: What's your favorite part of Thanksgiving? Least?
I hate having to split the day between my family and DH's family. I like it better when we go out of town so we only have one event to worry about.
I hate that our thanksgiving has to be Wednesday since we are Walmart people and both of us have to work Thursday! But I do like the bigger paycheck I'll get after and the other incentives they give us for working the holiday!!
It makes everything else just fine to deal with.
I could do without the turkey. Lol.
I think the worst part is probably clean up.
My least favorite is not getting to spend the whole day with my family anymore. DHs parents are divorced and so we are usually stuck splitting holidays between both them and my parents. Everyone loves in the same metro area but at least a 30 minute drive between each family. It sucks.

Least- picking up after and storing stuff.
Also, we do a turkey trot where all the money goes to a local food bank.

Least favorite is pumpkin pie. Ick. I like apple if its all there is but I prefer peach or berry cobbler.
