I go on overnight work trips several times a year. While I really appreciate that DH can handle the boys by himself I always sigh coming home to a sink full of dishes, clothes and toys strewn about, etc. Well, my mom came over to help him out yesterday evening while I was gone (she lives 3 hours away). I finally got home at midnight, exhausted, and walked in to a sparkling kitchen, stocked fridge, folded laundry and a clean house. And this morning she entertained them and fed them so I could sleep in. I think I ugly cried a bit when I told her how much easier she makes my life whenever she is around. Ok, AWing over. I can only hope to grow up like mom

My mom is 5 hours away and is planning on coming to help for a few weeks when DD is born. Well, DD is looking like she may arrive on or before Christmas, and my mom works in retail and isn't allowed any extra time off during that time. She told me that if the baby comes, she's telling them too bad, and coming to help anyway, even if that means she doesn't have a job to come back to. I know my mom is awesome, but sometimes I can't believe how truly blessed I am to have such an awesome mom.
(Disclaimer: she works part time, as kind of a way to give her something to do now that she is an empty nester. If she actually relied on the income, I would definitely not be ok with her leaving work)
