OMG. Best.invention.ever! If you don't have one, get one. I was skeptical, but was given a preemie sized Halo sleep sack before we discharged from the hospital. Ozzy sleeps so well in it.... it is amaze balls. And keeps him warm so he's been maintaining that body temp!
Are there any brands that you moms like better than the Halo ones and why? I need to buy a couple in newborn size since he will likely be out of this one in a week or two.

Swaddle is something else right - the little baby burrito? What does the baby wear under it? A onsie?
I'm so confused by all of this!!
And as for someone else's question, I've been putting him in sleepers in his sleep/swaddle sack. He keeps nice and warm. I also have been putting a blanket on top of that, but again he's preemie and we're maintaining body temp, and it's been 12 degrees here at night. Even though we have the temp in the house set warm, it still is getting kind of chilly in here at night!
Thank you for enlightening me on the sacks! I'm going to check out the different brands.

We were told that swaddling was not recommended several times during our hospital stay. I don't know if that is something new or what. The nicu nurses told us that it's not recommended anymore, but....
There's no way Ozzy would sleep or stay warm enough without being swaddled. So I completely agree that some babies need it to be able to sleep.

I work in an infant room in PA, and we are no longer allowed to swaddle the infants per state regulations. They may sleep in sleep sacks, but nothing where the arms are restrained.

So if they aren't recommending swaddle could u just do a long sleeve fleece onesie?
