  • I think some already have theirs ready. I'll probably do mine between 35-37 weeks.

  • I was thinking I'll start around 34-35 weeks.

  • I'm thinking I would try to pack it right after Christmas so 35w.

  • I figured I would wait until mid January. I'll be 36 weeks. I'm a procrastinator though and I live about 15 minutes from the hospital so I'm not overly stressed about it.
  • The majority of what's going in the bag I use on a daily basis, so there is no way I could pack as early as 35 weeks.
I'll probably pack the baby's things, but leave my stuff out until we are on our way out. Third baby...have yet to be in such a rush to get to the hospital that I didn't have the 10 minutes to throw some stuff in a bag.
  • With #1 I have it don at 32 weeks. Haven't even thought about it! I actually just sold the Lug bag I used for overnight at the hospital, so I guess first things first is to buy a new overnight bag!

I also live 2 minutes aways from a hospital at which I could deliver if road conditions don't permit me to go to my midwifery hospital, so I'm not too worried.

IDK...maybe I'll pack in mid Jan, so about 36 weeks?

  • I had my twins at 35w last time so I'll probably pack around 31/32 wks depending on how things are going. I also live close to the hospital so dh can run home for anything I need.
  • Maybe this is a FFFC... I packed when I went into labor.  Procrastination is like a super power for me.  If I plan things, I miss things.  If I throw things together, I seem better organized.  That's my story anyway.
  • I am going to wait until mid-January

  • I made a list probably around 35 weeks and then DH packed most of it while I was in labor.  A lot of the stuff, like phone chargers and makeup, were things that I needed on a regular basis and didn't want to pack too far in advance.
BFP #1 9/2010 (lost our baby at 21 weeks) BFP #2 8/2011 (ectopic pregnancy) BFP #3 10/2011 (chemical pregnancy) BFP #4 12/2011 (Abigail born 8/15/12) BFP #5 5/2013 (Griffin born 1/23/14 with heart defects, now repaired!)

  • I'll have mine ready by Christmas when I'm 32 weeks. I gave birth last year suddenly without warning at 32 weeks and had no bag or anything. Totally caught me off guard. You just never know, so having the basics ready is a safe bet.
  • I like the idea of making a list- very smart.  After reading that I think I'll get a list ready around Christmas, pack most stuff in Jan, and use the list to throw things in at the last second.

  • I did a home birth with DS so I didn't pack a bag.  Well 26 hours at home after my water broke I transferred to the hospital and threw a bag together and was completely fine.  Plus my DH can run home and get something for me if I forget it.

I packed: Yoga Pants, a nursing tank, my make up bag, tooth brush, deodorant (your first shower after delivering is so necessary haha) and baby's outfit home.  We grabbed the car seat (the base had been installed at 37 weeks) for the car and a aden + anais blanket.  At no moment after having DS was I like, "crap I forgot something".  Also, I was packing all this on the fly with really strong contractions and no sleep.  You'll be fine!

  • Normally I would wait until I'm closer, like 35/36 weeks or so. I was thinking about getting things ready around the end of January. But this time around I am off work the whole month of December, and when I go back in January I will be doing report cards, conferences, and directing 2 productions of our 4th grade musical all right up until the week before my c-section. With all of that going on, I'm thinking I'll probably throw in the things I'm not using right now while I'm off in December just so I can know that it's done.

Hopefully before you're in labour. Learned that one the hard way.....

I have YET to learn! All 4xs expected to get there have them stop labor and send me home, being early.... Well ended up delivering sending DH home and him semi listening and bringing stuff back.... I'm pretty easy going thou so I really just wanted fleece pants and a tank top :)
  • I'm thinking Christmas time because I'm a neurotic planner and need to just have it done. Working 7 days a week and many 12 hour days in January I figure I better safe than sorry.

I never had a labor with DS since they took him kinda soon and unexpectedly. I was told hey your having a baby next week so my mind already in rambles I just packed what I could think. I know it was a week to prepare but it went by as fast as lightning.
I'm due very end of feb so maybe thinking of packing it the first week of feb?
  • I packed my bag last time when my water broke at 37 weeks - which is not typical. I thought I still had time.

Currently, I have a designated backpack in my closet that has a notebook in it with a list of what I want to pack. I'm slowly putting stuff in there for now. Around 35 weeks I'll probably make sure its all put together.
