Toms

I think I want to get a pair of Toms for Christmas, I keep hearing how comfy they are. I was looking at Nordstrom.com and there are so many options and colors I just don't know which to ask my H for. If you have Toms, which do you have and would you recommend them? What color do you have? Does anyone have the Woolen ones? They look super comfy but I do not want to look like I am wearing slippers. This is going to be a post and run because I am going to bed now, but I will be back in the morning. Thanks!

I want a pair too but I'm scared they won't be comfy for me or my wide feet won't fit in them

I have the traditional black ones. They're great. My ex co-worker who's a all heels all the time girl has the wedge ones in I think chambray. I like them more on then I do in pictures. @Newt69 I pretty much only wore them my whole last pregnancy because my feet were so huge and swollen they were the only thing that was comfortable.

I have a pair of patterned canvas ones, I love them. They were really nice this summer when I didn't want to wear sandals. I recomend them for sure!

I have 3 pairs - classics in black, the wedges in black suede, and the men's botas in black (sensing a theme?). I didn't jump on the toms bandwagon for a long time, but I'm a convert. They're great even with my wide, flat feet.

Yes - I think so at least. They do it based on sales numbers though. So if a store buys 10 pair to sell, that would be the point at which they get donated.

I get a decent discount through work so I have a few pair. I really like the ballet flats; I have a pale pink pair and black. I also have the purple crochet ones that I wore whenever flip flops weren't appropriate this summer. I have some shimmery ones and silver glitter too (but don't rec those).

I really want the campus colored ones so I can have a pair of blue & gold for game days and am in love with the black and stars.

I live in Wa where is rains a lot, do the regular canvas ones do ok if they get wet? Like do they shrink or get a weird shape or get water stains?

No water stains. I bought mine a half or full size smaller because they stretch. They are snug after washing but always stretch back out within first wear.

I have wide feet and love toms. I always get the classics in canvas, either navy, black, or grey. I have a pair of the burlap boat looking shoes and I don't wear them ... Too stiff.

If you get a pair that are too tight, put a double ziplock of water inside and freeze. It will stretch the shoe quicker than wearing it around for a week.

I have the basic canvas ones in gray. I fought buying a pair for a long time, but now they are my faves! And definitely size down about 1/2 size. They do stretch.

i wouldn't wear them in the rain - your feet will get wet. they are just canvas, after all. and the soles don't go up much so if you step in even a small puddle, you'll get wet.

I know you asked about Toms but, I prefer Bobs I have a pair of both & I think the Bobs (by sketchers) are much more comfortable > just my 2 cents

I have the blue and green boat shoe canvas looking ones. I love them. And I got a great price on them from zulilly - they regularly have them on sale.

Yeah, I wouldn't wear them in the rain on purpose, but I just want to make sure if it happens to start raining or if it was moist out that they wouldn't get ruined.

Funny thing, I irrationally hate Bobs, haha. Not hate but it bugs me that they copied Toms down to the three letter male name. They could have at least named them something else!

I have 3 pairs: 1 canvas, 1 corduroy, and 1 burlap. The canvas is my favorite by FAR. The corduroy is kind of scratchy and doesn't stretch and mold as easily. The burlap frayed at the toe and heel where it attaches to the sole after TWO wears

. I wear the canvas ones constantly with no problems.
