Red Wine and Coke

This keeps popping up in my Pinterest feed! Supposedly it's really good but the thought kinda makes my tummy churn.
Has anyone here tried mixing red wine & Coke- what was the outcome? Did you hurl at any point within the following 24 hours?
I'm not looking for an excuse to open this wine bottle before thanksgiving or anything. Coughcough.

    I've heard of it but never tried it. I want to say its popular in Spain, but I could be making that up.

    I was thinking the same thing, but now after like the 4th time I've run across it I was like, Hummm, maybe this is one of those secretly amazing combos that I'm the last one to hear about (like bacon in tacos). Then again, maybe my friends just have bad taste.

    I've got cheap red wine & generic cherry coke in the garage fridge. I just wonder if I'm setting myself up for failure- You're not in college anymore April!!!!
    Maybe I'll save it for thanksgiving and test it on my sister first.
    They really enjoyed it on the show, but they're a bunch of miscreants. It's the kind of show that you either love it or hate it.

    I think it's supposed to be a coke with just a little red wine, like a little more than a splash.

    And btw, just thinking about md 20/20 makes me want to throw up and gives me a hangover

    We did this once or twice in Africa. Our wine came in a box so it never hurt to add something to it. It wasn't anything amazing but it didn't make me hurl.

    I love this... They're called calimochos. Somehow they taste almost like a fizzy sangria? I used to drink them a lot. They were on the menu at my favorite tapas place and became my favorite at home drink too... Now I want one...

    Yay yay yay yay! I knew someone here had to have tried it! Can I ask what type of wine you use? And what's the coke/wine ratio?

    @AprilRaine - I used to do almost half and half honestly (a little extra wine, because wine is the best). And used the cheapest red you can find. Like a jug of Carlos Rossi :) It's a drink teenagers in Spain drink, haha. But I think it's delicious! And a great use for cheapo red. And serve it over ice. The first sip is surprising but it just gets more and more delicious! Cheers!
