1st Trimester

8 weeks feeling better?

About 5 1/2 - 6 weeks I started to feel really sick mostly at night. Achy horribly tired body, bloated, gassy absolutely miserable. Big food aversions.

I've suddenly started feeling better. I can eat some vegetables again (couldn't touch or even smell them 2 weeks ago). I have more energy & don't feel as bad at night.

Should I be worried? I already heard a heart beat 2 weeks ago. My breasts are still sore - but just feel good. I hate that that worries me I heard it's supposed to "peak" and get worse at 8 weeks.

Re: 8 weeks feeling better?

  • That didn't make sense lol. My breasts are still sore, but in general I just feel much better is what I meant!

  • Totally normal. I think that's about the point where I began having a lot of fluctuations: feel good for a few days, bad for a few days. But then some crippling exhaustion hit. My MW said the hormones peak at 10 weeks. While I was most moody/teary/upset around that time, my energy was picking up.

Symptoms just aren't an indication of healthy babies.

  • Same exact thing happened to me. I just had an ultrasound last week and was so nervous because I was feeling so good, but all was ok!
  • Thank you guys. I've been such a worried mess that I feel "normal" again. Like having bad thoughts that the baby is dead. I hate being like this but I've had a miscarriage before so everything worries me .. It helps to hear your encouraging words.

My friend has a fetal heart Monitor that she used & is bringing to town for thanksgiving for me to use since my next appontment isn't until dec 17. It might give me peace of mind to hear the heartbeat again. Is 8-9 weeks too early to be able to hear it on one of those though?
  • The fetal heart monitors are awesome, but you might not be able to hear it until 10 weeks. I hope you do get to hear it some women do, but don't let it freak you out if you don't. The first trimester is so worrisome. I pray that God gives us all more Peace. So we can enjoy the blessing:)
  • My morning sickness started at 6 weeks and got a lot better at 8 weeks. I know it's hard not to think of what can go wrong but remember the odds are in your favor if you already heard/saw the hb!

  • I have heard that sweet tea. Last time I never got to hear a heart beat so I'm excited that I have this time. Unfortunately I have had 3 friends in the last year miscarry AFTER they heard the heart beat :( which they say is rare but 3 separate people I know have.

I agree about the peace of mind thing. I will be nice to just be able to relax and enjoy this instead of focusing on every little thing.
  • I am 9 months on Monday and I have felt good as well. I only had 3 days of sickness and mostly I'm just tired. I had the same concerns like....are the babies even ok?, shouldn't I be throwing up all the time? but my doctor told me to take it as a blessing and that I should enjoy it! I am just dying to get to week 12 for the untrasound where they will actually look like humans and not just gummy bears hahha
  • Well I must of just had a couple good days cause I feel like death today again!!!! Pregnancy is so inconsistent and weird!

  • I've found that when I start to feel better and my m/s goes away, all I have to do is wait a day or two and then BAM, it's back to remind me. I wouldn't worry about it just yet, play it by ear. The symptoms could come back in a couple days :(

  • I've been told multiple times that MS peaks around 6 weeks actually. And for me that seemed to be true, it hit me like a ton of bricks on week 6, lasted into week 7, and somewhat of 8 but ever since then it has progressively gotten better.  I totally get where you are coming from but try to remember that you probably have other symptoms as well, and they TOTALLY come and go! Some days I feel perfect, some days just my boobs are sore, some days I feel rotten.
  • 6wd1 hit like a steamroller with nausea and exhaustion- yesterday was 8wd3 and the forst day i felt better. I feel somewhat (aside from constipated amd bloated and fatty) normal today;)
Not sure if it is yhe zofran - yayyy zofran!!!!!
  • I felt better for a couple days around 8 weeks and it has come back full force. I thought I was in the clear ;)
