So I started feeling sick on Thursday and went to the doctor yesterday to tell me that it takes 72 hours to develop an infection but she did a strep test anyway. Well screw 72 hours because I have it. Ugh! She said that it's rare to pass it to the baby but to be careful because the amoxicillin might effect my birth control. Hahaha! Another stab in the gut. What a crappy start to the weekend! Any advice for this nursing mom who have been through this? I never get sick so I'm acting like a big baby now
I had strep when DS was two months old. It sucked of me, but BFing is the best thing you can do when you are sick. I was also told that DS was very, very unlikely to get it. He'd was fine and after 24 hours on antibiotics I started to feel better too. Take care hon!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2 After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
As for the strep, drink lots of fluids, I personally love some sort of lemon tea with honey. Gargle with warm salt water frequently. Sleep when you can! Lots of hand washing and try not to kiss lo on the face:) Feel better!

I'm so sorry about your poor kitty. I had strep while nursing too and LO did not get it. I would recommend taking probiotics at the same time as antibiotics so you don't get thrush. GL and feel better soon.

Thank you. I'm taking it better then my husband. He's been ugly crying all day. He died of heart failure and within 4 hours he went from being fine to on the verge of having a heart attack. $1000 at the vet later, he had no hope of survival. We never saw it coming. DH is a wreck!
Oh that's awful! I am sure crying doesn't help the throat either. I am so sorry to hear about your cat. That pain lasts a long time. I hope you feel better soon. My thoughts are with your family.
