When did you stop taking meds?

Yesterday was my last day of baby asprin and progesterone supps. I'm taking my vivelle patches off in about 5 minutes be so I will be all done. I am kind of excited to be reaching this milestone, but the insane part of me fears that I'm not ready yet .My RE told me before that there's no science at all behind when to stop meds, every RE does it differently, and I've been weaning off of them for the past 2 weeks.

But from what I've read the placenta completely takes over making progesterone and estrogen by week 12, which is 3 days away for me. So now I'm a little freaked out that I will lose the baby in the next 3 days. I'm being totally irrational right? When did you stop meds?

I stopped all meds (estrace and PIO/Crinone) at 9 weeks and everything turned out fine! I understand your worry, I was worried too. But I think at 12 weeks, you should be okay.

I get to stop everything on Saturday at 10 Weeks!! I am so counting down the days to the last PIO!!!

My RE wanted my off at 8 weeks but my obgyn told me if I felt more comfortable I could stay on it til 12 weeks because he rather not have me a crazy mess but not once did my RE or obgyn check my progesterone levels which I found really odd. You'll be fine that baby is a sticker!

I stopped at 10 weeks, too, cold turkey which totally worried me. But after a few days I stopped worrying and started enjoying the freedom.

Sounds like my RE is one of those overkill ones :P

I stopped estrace and Vivelle patches by the end of my 9th week, was never told when to stop baby aspirin(I still have no clue!), and I will have my last PIO injection at 12w3d. I am SO looking forward to the last shot next Friday!!!!

I stopped estrace after my last u/s when I was 8w2d. My last day of PIO will be 11/26, which will be 10 weeks. I was worried about just stopping cold turkey, and my nurse said if I wanted from like 11/25-11/28 or so I could do 1/2cc if it made me feel better, but by then the placenta should be doing it's job. I've also heard that the placenta doesn't take over until 12 weeks, so I was concerned about stopping at 10 weeks, but it looks like it's pretty common and the REs are the experts and have done this many many times :-) I can't wait for no more shots interrupting my evenings!

I stopped progesterone at 10 weeks. With my DS I was 9 weeks when I stopped. I was terrified both times but turned out fine!

I stopped meds at 12 weeks.

I wouldn't worry about the next 3 days - your placenta is already pumping out progesterone. It's not like a switch that suddenly turns on exactly when you hit 12 weeks - it's a gradual process, and 12 weeks is on the conservative side for estimating when the placenta can completely take over. So try not to worry (I know, it's hard)!

I was told to stop all meds at week 10, then I come in 3 days later and they test how well my body is doing without them. Apparently the placenta takes over producing what we need around week 9.

My RE told me I could stop taking Crinone and baby aspirin at week 8. I stopped the baby aspirin then, but finished up my Crinone (since I had enough left to get through 8wk6d) - my RE said it was my choice whether to finish up the Crinone I had, that by that point the babies were getting everything they needed on their own.

I'm like you, though - in the back of my mind I do worry whether I stopped too soon - I'm 9wk2d right now. I'll have my first OB appt. on Nov. 25th, and another u/s Dec. 3, so I'll feel better after that.

I was on PIO , Endometrin and estrace.... The PIO and estrace stopped at 7 weeks and the Endometin stopped at 11 weeks. I'm technically supposed to stay on my baby aspirin the whole time but most times I forget to take it

bad I know but I figure the lovenox is there so it's prob ok

My timing was about the same. I started weaning about 9.5 weeks and stopped at 11.5 weeks. I was nervous too, but my RE said they allowed for lots of overlap, so I think even if the placenta isn't fully functioning, it is making enough that you don't need the meds anymore. I went back a few days later for labs and ultrasound and everything was great but I was still nervous!
