hi all!
so my wife and i are about to do a home insemination for the first time! i'm so so so excited and trying to remain super positive (read: "we WILL get pregnant the first try!). i'm just looking for some community aaand also get some questions answered along the way.
we decided to go with NW cryobank because honestly, they're less pricey than a lot of the other banks. the family limit still is reasonable and we love a bunch of the donors. have others had good experiences with NW? we narrowed it down to 2 donors that we nearly equally like. one has very few vials left and the other has over 70... so by process of elimination! we purchased his childhood photos tonight and weeeeeee! it's so exciting. he has very similar attributes to my wife (except she has dimples!) and that's so exciting. i am just so excited to get started!
anyone try eating for TTC? i'm curious, in particular, if anyone ate for TTC for their first try? also, how far in advance should one cut out alcohol and caffeine?
hope you're all having a great start to your weekend!
lauren.

Re: positive energy! so excited! HI!
We are using NW Cryo as well. Our first donor had great numbers. We are getting ready to pick another now. There wasn't anything wrong with our first. As it turned out, I wasn't able to get pregnant but we didn't realize that. He is all sold out now and no longer donating. So onward we go in search of another.
Please join us on Mondays for the TTC Check-In and keep us updated on your journey.

***CP mentioned***
We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm. 8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy. We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.
11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)
1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2
****All Welcome!****
We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.
I also tried to have a super positive attitude throughout our IUI, although I did understand the percentage change of it working. Even the nurse and Dr changed the way they talked to me lol instead of saying "If you get a positive pregnancy test give us a call" everything was "When you get.." ..I loved the switch from "if" to "when" after I told them I thought that IUI would be the one...and I did end up getting a BFP
I used NW cryobank and would recommend them. Not only is the cost about 1/2 of what it is anywhere else but I also got pregnant on my second try and both times had good numbers.
I cut out alcohol completely once I started trying and went down to half café coffee. I continued drinking half café up to the point of a positive result and now have cut out coffee completely.
