Re: ~~~First Tri Check-in 11/22/2013~~~
Congratulations for moving on!! So exciting!!
I feel like time has completely stopped over here. The time between Beta and first ultrasound is torture!! Ultrasound is scheduled for Dec. 3rd. From what I can tell everything is going fine. No real sickness yet. My boobs still ache, my sense of smell is off the chain and I definitely have some acne. I'm trying to stay active but I am so so scared to do something to mess this miracle up...it just seems like things are so fragile right now.
QOTW: Lets share those thanksgiving recipies! Whats everyone making?
I have no idea what I am making! I need to decide quickly though! I am supposed to bring something to my parent's house. Maybe the recipies you ladies post will give me inspiration!!

Congrats @Mwhigham22 on moving on to 2nd tri! So glad to hear your NT scan went great.
@Say1009 - Yes, the wait between beta and first ultrasound is definitely a difficult nerve wrecking time. Hang in there!
I have my first OB appointment tomorrow, which I'm kinda nervous kinda excited for. DH will be coming with and I am sure it will be information overload! Since ET my biggest symptom has been abdominal cramps, and they continue to happen on a regular basis. Something I'm going to ask the OB about tomorrow. Other than that I've been doing pretty good!
QOTW: Pumpkin bars are one of my favorite fall desserts! The cream cheese frosting is delicious.
QOTW I am making oyster madeline. I got the recipe from Garden and Gun, I have never made it before. I don't know how to include the link on mobile. It's like a casserole with oysters, spinach, bread crumbs and bacon. Not sure I will be able to eat much of it since the oysters are local and I don't know what kind of chemicals and stuff are in the water way.
IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
I had my NT scan Wednesday it was so exciting to see it jumping around. MS doesn't look like it wants to ease off at all
I'm not much of a cook or baker. Sorry no recipes here.
Hope everyone has a good week!!
@Say1009 I hope that the next week and a half fly by for you!!
@cinnamonrollcupcake good luck at your appt! I didn't get overloaded at my first appointment, know that you have a little time to make most of the decisions.
@whoberry that's so cool that it just showed up overnight!
AFM: I'm at 11weeks and I have had probably the worst day symptom wise the last couple days. Yesterday was really tough. I hope that things improve as I move into 2nd Tri soon. On a good note, I got a pair of mat pants in the mail yesterday and they are SO comfy! I have not gained any weight yet, but they will be awesome when I do need them
QOTW: It's just going to be 3 of us for thanksgiving (H, myself, and my mom) so we are not cooking a turkey. I'm doing rack of lamb with mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole (a must for H) a salad and stuffing(I think). It should be delishious!!

** After 2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of Mini IVF! **
Had my second beta yesterday and had more great results! My first ultrasound is Tuesday. Can't wait!! Excited to see what's going on in there! I don't have an official due date yet, but based on my calculations, I should be due late July!
QOTW - this year DH and I are doing our own thanksgiving for the first time ever! I am making his favorite corn casserole. Preheat the oven to 325. Unwrap 1 stick of butter and place in an 8x8 square baker. Place baker in the oven so the butter melts while the oven preheats. Drain 1 can of corn and mix with 1 can of creamed corn, 8 oz sour cream, and 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix. When the oven is finished preheating, pour the corn mixture in the baker and place back in the oven for 35-45 minutes. So easy and very yummy!!!
We had our first OB appointment on Monday. I got to hear the heartbeat, but with the doppler, it's hard to tell whether its one or two! and 8 more weeks until the next u/s - but I guess that's good news because we're healthy! morning sickness is somewhat better but maybe I'm just getting used to it! I am down 7 lbs from pre-pregnancy, but I do plan on gaining it all back at Thanksgiving!
DH and I alternate whether we spend Thanksgiving with his family or mine. This year we will be driving 8 hrs to my family for the 4 day weekend! I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone and telling my Grandma! She's been asking for "more than a great-grand-dog" for years now! We have it easy coming from out of town, but I usually help out and make a few pies the day before. I love all the pies - pumpkin, fruit, pecan - anything! with my mom's homemade whipped cream of course.
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
I had my first ultrasound with RE on Monday at 6 weeks and 2 days. We were able to see our little bean and the flicker of the heartbeat on the screen. We have our next ultrasound on the 2nd. I have been feeling tired and having nausea but I am loving it. Just really grateful to be here.
My EDD is 7/12/14.
We will have Thanksgiving at my mom's and will be making a green bean dish. I have yet to find a recipe, hahaha....
Hi ladies! I'm 9wk2d today. We have our first OB appointment on Monday, very exciting stuff. And, most importantly, we're announcing our pregnancy to my in-laws tonight (as a bday gift to my FIL) - my FIL is a lot like my mom in that they both have big mouths and can't keep a secret, so after tonight, we'll slowly start telling the rest of the world. We'll tell the rest of my husband's immediate family when we see them next week for Thanksgiving, and we'll tell my parents the following week when we go up to visit them for the holidays. I'm nervous to begin making announcements, but it'll be really fun to see all the responses (especially when everyone realizes we're having twins!).
QOTD: I make my grandma's pumpkin pie every year for Thanksgiving, as well as mashed potatoes. Can't wait!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I am 9 weeks today!!! Undst undst undst undst!!!
My OB decided to switch on the 4D this week and voilá. I saw my baby hanging out, laying on my uterus. Look -->
QOTD: I am making cranberry sauce from scratch.
1 pound fresh cranberries, washed and dried
2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup water
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 orange, zested and juiced
Simmer all ingredients until cranberries are tender but before they loose their shape.
I am also making a Beet, walnut, chevre salad. Easy. Roast berts until tender. Remove skin. Toss with goat cheese and warm walnuts. Then make a vinagrette (I like it with a little bit of mustard) and voilá.
My RE likes to wait until your 7th week to do the first ultrasound, so that you are pretty much guaranteed a hb if the pregnancy is viable. Mine will be Wednesday 11/27 -- I'll be 7w3d -- and waiting for it is killing me. I have been having a lot of anxiety about whether all is well in there. BUT time will tell, I guess.
QOTW: We are in charge of veggies this year. I think we are roasting brussels sprouts with pancetta, and I am thinking of making this squash: https://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/10/dining/10chefrex2.html?ref=dining&_r=0

Thanksgiving: I actually am not cooking anything. My nausea has been super bad so if I'm feeling ok that day I'll help out with stuff but otherwise my mom and H are in charge. And we have an alternate bland meal on standby for me in case the traditional stuff is no bueno.

Congrats to all of the ladies who are moving over to 2nd tri!! So exciting
QOTW: This is really bad, but I cook nothing for Thanksgiving and I probably never will lol. My mom cooks everything, and she likes it. DH might make a broccoli cheese casserole to bring, but that's it. I'm more of a baker, but I only do it if I have time. In my industry November is always a busy month, so I really don't have much time to bake and get things like that ready before Thanksgiving, it always seems to sneak up on me. I did make carrot cake cupcakes yesterday, but I have yet to try them. If they taste OK I'll probably bring those, but that's really it.
