Party favors?

For LO's birthday party, most of the guests will be adults (we only have a couple of friends with kids). Do I still need to do party favors or is that something I can skip?

There will be 6 kids at Morgan's party  so I customized their goody bags and included age/gender specific items in each. I wouldn't skip, kids like getting stuff! (hell I am 34 and I LOVE getting stuff too)

    :)

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to just do them for the kids...blonde moment I guess

  • lol...sounds like my kind of party...

We're having it in the Fellowship Hall at church because a) it's free and b) we have too many friends to host it at our house....the theme will be whatever cute decorations I find...all I know is DH is making gumbo and I'm making the cake...I guess I'm suffering sticker shock b/c I've never priced party supplies before and the budget I had in my head just isn't going to cut it, lol

  • I saved baby food jars and I'm filling those with different candies for favors.

  • We recently went to a 1 yo bday party, and the hostess gave all the little little kids those foam numbers and letters for the bathtub.  I think they come from the dollar store.  DD loves them!  In case you're looking for ideas....

  • I vote skip, we still haven't done them.  It just always seems like a heap of junk, but I guess there are ways to put it together where it doesn't go directly into the trash.

I vote skip as well. BUT, a really cute one DS got at a 1st bday party was a miniature board book.

  • I am doing the owl theme “Looks Whoos Turning One" and for favors I found little owl ornaments that all kids and adults can take one and put on there tree
  • You could skip, but if you wanted a super simple favor, check amazon for a few cheap kids books (1 for each). We've done chocolates in a little candy bag for the adults, they like a reward after a kids party ;)

  • I'm debating...I don't know what I want to do. Sometimes I think I want to do some favors and then other times I don't think I want to deal with it lol.
Anyone want to do it for me?!

I'm keeping it simple and making rice crispy treats.  I found treat/favor bags with penguins on them at the dollar store to keep with the winter theme.
that's an idea...i could make something simple like rice krispy treats and put them in the treat bags that match whatever theme we go with for decorations

  • My bff's 2 year olds birthday party was yesterday. She had a boys bag and a girls bag. the girls bag had cute plastic bracelets (Alivia LOVES bracelets, she puts them on her arm and then holds her arm up so they stay on lol) beaded necklaces and a little thing of bubbles. The boys I didn't notice what was in there but I saw a little smiley face paddle board ball thingy.

  • I'm not doing favors. Instead, I'm baking motorcycle shaped sugar cookies, and setting up a "customize your ride" station for the kids to decorate them, and either eat at the party or take home.
