24 weeks ...measuring at 38 weeks?!?!

I know the babies are both large and both have extra fluid. I also know I've gotten bigger recently and more uncomfortable. At 18 weeks I was measuring 8 weeks ahead to 26 weeks. Now I'm 24 weeks measuring 14 weeks ahead to 38 weeks. No wonder why I'm more uncomfortable, walking is hard, and everything is exhausting! With about 12-14 weeks to go, I can only imagine how much bigger I'm going to get! Is/did anyone measure quite a bit bigger? How did you stay comfortable and deal with the stretching pains? Also did you encounter ptl issues due to measuring big?

Re: 24 weeks ...measuring at 38 weeks?!?!

  • I measured 54 weeks at 37 weeks.  No ptl, I had to be induced.  The best advice I can give you is rest when possible.  Your body is getting a constant workout.  If you feel tired or sore, let yourself recoup.  Keeping your skin hydrated will help a bit too.  It is rough, and you will feel miserable the closer you get to delivery, but it will all be worth it.

  • I measured 57 weeks at delivery (40w0d).  No ptl, no bedrest.  The last 5 weeks were just uncomfortable.  I lived on Ambien and Zofran.

  • I'm measuring 44 weeks at 33 weeks so about 11 weeks ahead. I would just repeat what others are saying, take it easy, try to relax, stay hydrated, and don't compare yourself to other women.

  • Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it!!!

  • I measured 47 weeks at 36 weeks and had been consistently that far ahead. As others have said, rest and hydrate! Listen to your body. :)

  • I am trying to rest as much as I can but I am a 4 year old kindergarten teacher without a full time aide and they are still allowing me to work! They just gave me restrictions of an added break this past week but my job hasn't fulfilled that added break yet which helps nothing. I would pull the plug for work on my own but as soon as I walk out the door, it is all unpaid! So we are trying to have me work as much as possible without jeopardizing anything and within reason!
