I know it's next week but we have a friend's thanksgiving tomorrow night and am getting excited to make my homemade cranberry sauce tonight and green bean casserole Tomorrow! I would love to hear some of your favorite traditions and foods/recipes! (Looking for a good sweet potato recipe)
Last year I made the same but fruit salad instead of sweet potatoes!
Re: Let the Thanksgiving festivities begin!
I do 2 cans of green beans (you can use fresh uncut green beans about 9 oz. if you prefer that- I did that last year)
1 can of cream of celery soup
3/4 c. of milk
Salt and pepper
1 cup to as needed fried onions (I use french's fried onions)
Preheat oven to 350
Mix soup, milk, beans, s&p, 2/3. C of fried onions into a medium casserole dish. (We have a huge family so I double the recipe and use a larger casserole dish almost a 9x13.)
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
Stir after baking
Top with remaining onions and than bake for 5 minutes before serving so onions are crispy!
I am making...
Hatch Chile Mac & Cheese
Squash Casserole
Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Pecan Pumpkin Butter Pie
I usually also make my grandmother's Cornbread Dressing but my MIL wants to make her dressing...which means it will be icky. I might make a half recipe just to keep at our house. She is a horrid cook. So glad we talked her into a pre-smoked turkey from Rudy's.
(List in process last night...it's 3 pages now!)
Eta: obviously I struggled spelling awkward
@MaglioMama I'm trying a new recipe this year for pumpkin pie so I can't vouch for it yet. However, it is from Williams-Sonoma and they rarely steer me wrong! It's easy and uses the pecan pumpkin butter they sell:

We are getting a ham made for us ::ducks::
Then making stuffing, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. I am excited to be cooking with MIL and having her around. I love her
after MIL leaves DD and I will walk on over to my mom's to eat over there. I have reminded her several times a day that we will be over and to make sure to have enough and save me crab dip.I love being able to enjoy my moms home cooking ever year!
This year will be da bomb (yep just said it)
