Mini pill and cramps

So for the first time I forgot to take my pill this morning. I left for work and I won't be able to take it now until I'm like 12 hours late. I know to use backup and whatnot but I am having terrible horrible cramping. I am not a person who has ever had cramping from my cycle before, only ute pain has been labor. Has anyone else missed one and had bad cramping? I haven't gotten my period yet and I didn't until 8 months pp with G so I doubt it's that. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this.
