My four week old got choked on her saliva while she was being changed. Her face was bright red, mouth wide open and tongue hanging out. She finally caught her breath and started breathing after I leaned her forward and patted her on the back. Scared me to death. Has anyone else had this happen. If so how often did it happen and what did you do? Any ways to prevent it?
Yes!! It really freaked me out and put me in a panic. I learned to calm down when I see this (she has done this again), sit her up, and it passes quickly. The doctor said it is normal as they are just developing. I know, it's scary to see though!
It's happened a couple times and also happened on the bottle. You just have to watch them carefully and do exactly what you did, nothing we can really do to prevent it.
