FFFC (a little early)

Another attempt to keep this board going!

I think Elf on a Shelf is lame. It looks like a PITA and a commitment. Once those cute setups start, you have to keep going. I have no interest in getting one.

    I am also an elf on the shelf hater. My mom got ds one for Christmas last year I and straight up told her we weren't doing it. I also think it's a little creepy to tell your kid they are being watched (literally) so they'd better be good.

    My FFFC... I am perhaps not so secretly happy that we won't make it back home for Thanksgiving. I am so sick of big family holidays. It's probably one of the very few reasons I'm glad we're far from home. I'm already dreading Christmas, which will be made worse since we'll be coming back just for the holiday so we will be expected at every.single. gathering (seriously, between me and dh, 6 different get togethers).

    I think it's a little creepy, and I have no intention of telling my child to behave well because someone might not bring him presents.

    Plus, too much work. I'm all for cute seasonal crafts and even themed food once and a while (snowman pancakes for breakfast on Christmas Eve, for example), but doing elaborate setups every night? No thank you.

    We don't do Elf on the Shelf either.

    My FFFC is that today my work is having a nice, fancy luncheon for Thanksgiving. I'm opting out and eating Taco Bell instead. I hate crowds, am anti social in general and will love 2 hours of quiet time in the office!

    My FFC is that I am sad for your children that they don't have elf on the self :)....just kidding......but yes we have him and I love doing fun things with him. LOL....second confession is I am a big kid.  DH like you guys sees him as too much work and commitment.  But DS LOVES him.  He wished on a star when he was five that he would get an elf on the shelf and built him a little house so I had to make it happen :).

    My FFFC is sometimes when I ask my husband to pick DS up from daycare so I can have a quiet hour to myself to do homework, I end up spending the whole time curled up on the couch with my Kindle.

    That sounds like a delightful way to spend an afternoon.

    I let ds play on my phone in bed this morning so I could get an extra half hour of sleep. I guess I let him play with it more than I should because whenever he sees me with it, he tells me to take turns and holds out his hand...

    A friend from work brought me a huge bag of clothes for LO. I went through them and donated all of it to Goodwill. I didn't mean to be ungrateful and would never tell her what I did but all the clothes were way worn and pilled all over, and I knew I would never put LO in them.
