What do I need two of?

Hello ladies,

I already have a almost 20 month old son.  So I have all of the basics for one baby.  But what will I need two of?  or extra of?

My list so far:

2 carseats

2 swings

2 boppys

2 cribs

2 highchairs (eventually)

and a double stroller (or snap and go)

Thanks!!

Excited for our newest additions in April/May 2014!!

  • My plan is to wait to buy a second swing bc I don't know that both babies will like it. It was a miracle with DD so hoping the twins like it too. I figure it's an easy thing for DH to run out and pick up after they arrive.

We plan to have two PNPs bc they will be in our room for the first few months. Depends on your situation I suppose. Two bouncer chairs? Always a good place to set a baby(ies) down...
  • I agree with PP.  Wait to see what your babies like.

Looking at your list I do not have any swings or boppys.  My boys are 7 weeks old.

  • We had our singleton first also. We got a second crib, car seat, rock n play, bouncer, and double stroller frame. Also a twin BF pillow.

No extra boppy and no swings at all.

  • Your list looks pretty good to me! We had one swing and one bouncer--I guess some babies like one over the other so we had one of each. I also have 2 RnPlays, they honestly are the best thing ever and what has allowed me to care for both girls by my self. They're 6 months old now and we still use them daily...

I would get one bouncer and one swing, at least to start off with. One of my twins hates the swing. And definitely two RnPs!!!
  • I think it also depends on how your house is set up. Our bedrooms are upstairs so this is our set up: Living room - 1 swing, 1 bouncy seat, 1 play gym, 2 boppies (nice for nursing one at a time, to hold babies on lap, to prop in for bottle feedings. Wish I had the loungers for when they were smaller). They rotate stations and my girl twin likes the swing more. But, boy twin gets some swing time here and there. The fisher price swing with the reflective mirror is great! They live watching themselves swing! I also bring a rnp downstairs for the day every day.
Downstairs bathroom - 1 bouncy seat. Nice to set a baby down in when you gotta go ;)
Upstairs bedrooms - 2 cribs, 2 rnps (I transfer one downstairs every day for the day), 1 bouncy seat, 2 boppies (so I don't have to transfer... Could get by with one upstairs)
I also rec a twin nursing pillow for tandem feedings. We have the Motorola video monitor that also came with a sound only monitor. I use the video upstairs and sound one downstairs for if I have to run upstairs for any reason. I will eventually get a second camera for when they are in their own cribs in their room. They sleep in rnps right now. We have 2 space saver high chairs.
    Hope this helps!
  • Agreed! Wait to see what they like or get a swing & a bouncer. My daughter wound up loving both, but you just never know.

And I agree about the twin BF pillow. Much less hassle.

  • I'm going through the same thing...
Obviously you must have two car seats, but I'm thinking just one swing, one bouncer... My cousin highly recommended two rock and plays (she said it's all her twins would sleep in). I'm a FTM so all this baby stuff is overwhelming to begin with, but with two boys on the way it's even more overwhelming.
