Quick! Running to the gstore in 45 mins, what do I buy?

Hi Ladies,

Been trying to figure out what foods are good to eat being prego...need ones to help with morning sickness, nausea, energy and just seem good to eat!

What are some things you've read that are really good to eat?

Also add something that you ate a lot of when u 1st were prego and now it's hard to look at it!!  ( Mine was humus and oatmeal was eating a lot of it first couple weeks now looking at both makes me sick!)

  • Eggs NutriGrain waffles and strangely enough, ramen noodles have been my saving grace when feeling nauseous not the best nutrition but did the trick for filling me up. I got to a point where I couldn't stand the thought of another cracker or ginger ale! Lemonade has been my go to drink. Sometimes mixed with a little fruit punch to lessen the bite.

  • Pineapple has been a big one for me.

    And chewy granola bars.

And I bought bagel thins - they satisfied the bagel/carb craving but for 1/3rd of the calories.

Notice how none of this has any protein... not good but I couldn't/still really can't stomach most of it.  I force something with dinner.

  • Oh and applesauce too when I wasn't feeling great. There's so many options but you will find what works and what doesn't. I do miss Lays potato chips. Those were my go to guilty snack before being prego. Now, they don't taste so good.

  • Pears.
Yogurt with actual fat in it and REAL sugar. (I was eating fat free, sweetened with aspartame before and found I can no longer stomach it but full fat does wonders with my ms)
    Cup-a-soup
    Milk. Lots and lots.
    Gatorade/Powerade. There's somethin' about it.

  • I've been drinking a lot of gatorade lately. I'm making my grocery list right now and all I want is those little debbie christmas tree cakes and popcorn.

  • I also found that popsicles (I found 100% juice ones) would help my nausea, especially at night time.

And juice in general - I'd mix it with water and it makes it easier to get my fluids in.

  • I agree with all the previous posts, but want to add almonds, they really settled my stomach & they have some protein...added bonus!

  • I've been living off cereal, apples and extra buttery popcorn.

But now ramen noodles sound SOO good. Even though they are SO bad for you.

  • Pineapple, cheese, soup (broth, any kind), rice and beans, guacamole
  • I was pregnant and on a cruise, since I couldn't take anything for m/s coupked with sea sickness. .they suggested green apples andit really does help. Sucking on slice of lime works too
  • Okay well I forgot to buy some almonds! But I did get some watermelon, bananas, bagels, applesauce, carnation bfast (haven't had in a while but we'll see), special k, bread, eggs, and chicken and rice.  I had a little bit of food and water before I went to the store, but after an hr being there looking at everything I was starting to get nauseous! I just came home and ate some watermelon and pizza and feeling a little better but I think it's time for a nap!

Wanna hear something funny? I thought I was typing on the July 2014 board but I realized this was June!  LOL   I probably should join this one too since my baby is due July 2 the day after my 30th bday! I was supposed to be born June 21 and was late, my baby might be early!

  • I loved bananas so much at first, now I hate them!

    I'm big into oranges now.

My crackers are a hit or miss. Lol
