Tricks to get DD to smile for pics

DD is a total ham when she's at home with me and DH, but she's still VERY shy and reserved around other people. We have her Christmas pictures this afternoon, and I am fully prepared to jump around and wave my arms like a lunatic to get her to smile. I mean, I can't be the only wacko mother to hop like a bunny and bark like a dog in the middle of a photo studio, right??

Wish me luck....

  • I love that picture! That is definitely a half smile on James! They're adorable. And DD will be too, of course. But she has such a great smile and I'd love to capture it with something better than my stupid phone. ;)

  • I don't think it's all bad if kids are serious for photos. But I second the peek-a-boo trick.

  • Our fall photos were mostly serious.

A good round of the itsy bitsy spider or peekabo usually gets a smile or two. Then back to serious.
