Boil?....TMI, for sure!

On my right inner thigh at my bikini line, I had a hard lump like pimple with a white/grey head on it I squeezed it, and it was so painful I couldn't tolerate it (nothing came out). So I let it go. Then the following 2 nights I applied a warm (hot) compress to it. I squeezed again, and some pus/blood came out the first night (a small amount). The 2nd night it was like, pressure behind it and it squirted the same type of pus/blood. It felt a lot better after this happened. However, it is now larger, I'd say the size of a marble. It hurts to walk because my pants rub against it. I've had these before, but not as large and painful! Any suggestions? And again, I apologize for posting something SO gross!!! But I don't know if I should mention it to my doc or not.

  • Could it be an ingrown hair?

  • It might be. It's a tad difficult for me to acrobat my way down to look. I try to shave my bikini line to the best of my ability- so it could definitely be an ingrown hair.
  • I've had this before, try peroxide, it helped make it go away faster for me
  • Probably an ingrown that led to an abscess. Keep doing the warm compresses and squeezing it out. If it's getting larger and not draining , or feels hard.. Then your dr needs to do a small incision to drain it.

Google hydradenitis suppurativa. If it looks like what you're dealing with, don't mess with it. No squeezing, no poking. Hot compresses only.

ETA do not have it lanced!

  • Stop popping it! Go to your OB or midwife and have them lance it. Sounds so painful. Just be careful, my friend popped a pimple on her nose and got a staph infection. It was horrible.
  • Definitely agree with PP, probably an ingrown hair.

  • I've had that before, after I popped it hubby had to get the tweezers and pull the hair out. If you don't get the hair out it'll keep coming back

  • Boils usually come with fever. I'd talk to the doctor!

This.  If you cant see it very well have your SO look and tweeze the hair out or it's not going to get better.

And it's usually an insanely long/disguisting piece so worn him
  • Paw paw cream, worked amazing on mine. OB said it was common during this stage of pregnancy to get things like that. Mines nearly gone now.
  • TELL YOUR DOCTOR. I'm just saying because it could be serious and you do NOT want to mess with that. And by serious, my brain goes straight to MRSA because I had that internally, ended up with a serious infection (prior to knowing what it was) and had to have surgery, was hospitalized a week, and had a pic line IV I administered to myself for two weeks. I was very lucky I went when I did. The likelihood of it being that is low but don't take chances.
