I want to get DD a play kitchen for Christmas. Some of the ones I see say 3+ years and caution due to small parts/chocking hazard. Ug!

And for some reason there are alot more choices (and alot more expensive) than I thought they'd be. I've got $50 Kohl's cash that I thought I could put towards one and spend very little out of pocket. But the one I origionally thought I wanted is kind of rinky-dink! The Step2 Cozy Kitchen is only $67 at Kohl's, so after my Kohl's cash it would be $17 ... BUT all the buttons are stickers and it doesn't make any sounds. I think I want something that she can use for a few year!

Anyone found a good one? At a decent price (less than $100).

I've been stalking Graigs list ... but nothing decent has poped up. I need to check out the consignment shop near me, but stuff like that goes pretty quick!

It does not make any noise, but that was a plus for us. It is $39 on Amazon. And she still plays with it now (at 3 years). It is also fairly compact, which we needed since we don't have a ton of space.

ETA: This one says it is for 2 years and up, BTW. DD got it at 17 months (now that I really think about it) and there were no pieces that I thought were too small for her.

I'm stalking this thread because I want to get one for DS. And if my ILs tell me by getting him a kitchen is girly, I'm going to throat punch someone. God forbid my son learns to like cooking and taking care of a family.

I was trying to find ours online but it's not sold any more. I love it. We got it for DD1 when she turned 2 and she's almost 6 now. It is still a huge hit in our house. It's made by kidkraft but it's smaller than the ones they make now. Target has some online so you can see the style.
If you can't really find one you like and afford before Christmas another idea would be to get a plastic grocery cart. Like this one https://mobile.walmart.com/m/phoenix#ip/Little-Tikes-Shopping-Cart-Pink/14697184?type=search You can get some bigger play food and accessories to go with it.

We have the Melissa and Doug kitchen. It isn't great for DS right now because he mostly wants to slam the doors shut and terrify me that he is going to break his fingers in there but he loves it and I like that it is cute and doesn't make completely obnoxious sounds or anything.

I got her the Fisher Price Servin' Surprises Kitchen & Table for Christmas. It's $79 but was on sale last week for $40. My mom has Elmo's Restaurant Kitchen at her house for her and she loves playing with that.

ETA-I just saw that Walmart has it on Rollback for $46.97

I bought the Kidkraft Uptown one for Christmas. I guess I'll find out if he likes it. I like that it's not obnoxious looking and will last him many years.

We found a little tikes one this summer on the side of the road. She just likes to put things in the oven. She can barely reach the microwave so it will be some time yet before she'll really start to enjoy it.

We are waiting for LO's 2nd birthday and buying the red Pottery Barn kids kitchen. It's a splurge but it's something my family could not have afforded to buy.

My neighbor found one for us out on the curb on garbage day and it is adorable and made with durable, heavy plastic. It also has a table leaf that folds out. It doesn't make noises, but I can tell it was built to last. I say keep checking craigslist or Goodwill, or roadside!
