Long/Tall maternity dress pants

Has anyone had any luck finding long or tall length maternity dress pants that fit well? I'm 5'10" and weighed 130 before pregnancy...typically wear a 4 long at most places. For the life of me I can't find any good maternity pants and I need some for work!! Thanks in advance for ideas :):)

Re: Long/Tall maternity dress pants

  • I'm in the same boat. Gap long work pants aren't long enough. What about Anne Taylor Loft? Online.

  • They only have a 32.5 inch inseam...but I'm tempted to order some and see if I can just take the hem out! :) lets hope that works...or that I can find some when I go shopping this weekend!

  • Hi! I have the same issue. I'm 6'0. I was just saying to my family today that I can't find any maternity clothes that fit me well! I did get a pair from gap that I can wear with flats. I found that not all their inseams are the same on the tall pants. Some are longer than others. So you really have to look at each pair. I have has very good luck with 7 for all man kind maternity jeans but they are expensive. I's rather spend the money for high quality pants that fit me well. I have not liked the quality of the loft clothing. I was happy with gap but found that the shirts shrunk up after I washed them and are barely long enough to cover my pants panel. Definitely won't be long enough once I have a real bump.
  • I just ordered some jeans from Motherhood Maternity. They have some in long that have 34" inseams. Jessica Simpsons line was BOGO and others were buy one, get one 1/2 off. Plus try googling coupons, I found a few extra that saved me a lot of $$. I haven't gotten them in the mail yet but I have high hopes for them.

  • I have the opposite problem (stubby legs), but the Motherhood line has "Petite" and "Tall" variants.  I'm on my 3rd baby and the dress slacks are still holding up well.

  • I have been googling this all evening. I am not super tall, but my inseam is long and I am quickly running out of the ability to use the belly band.

  • I have a pair of longs from motherhood that are definitely long on me ... and I'm 5'8" and usually need longs.  Worth a try!
  • I'm so not looking forward to this pants hunt stuff. I'm 6'3" and 36 inseam. Finding regular jeans is a biotch, I don't even want to think about the impossibility of pregnancy pants!

  • I usually wear a long in pants as well and I've had luck only with gap jeans. I have not tried there dress pants. I think their long dress pants are shorter than their long jeans just from pre pregnancy experience. Try nordstroms I hear they have a huge selection (there is not one near me).
  • I'm 5'10 and I have one pair from GAP that is long enough and then I have a couple from Motherhood that are long enough as well. Otherwise I buy the regular ones and just wear flats.

  • I have some Motherhood Maternity pants that are tall. I have about a 35" inseam, and they fit just right. I also got some hand-me-down maternity jeans from my sister that are tall, and they're from Old Navy..and they're wonderful. :) I feel your pain, though! Finding long pants is a challenge, especially in maternity! Good luck! :)

  • I can't speak for their dress pants, but for jeans, H&M's regular length are very long. I'm 5'9" and they are long enough with room to spare! If they have dress pants there, they probably similarly run long.

  • I'm 6'0 and have the Motherhood pants, they fit well. My problem is finding shirts long enough! Non-rouched maternity shirts fit perfect with no bump do I have been buying tunic style shirts that are a size too big. Sounds like maternity clothes for tall girls might be a good money maker!

I've seen a lot of tutorials online of how to turn pants into maternity pants if you're feeling industrious. Here's a good one I found: https://www.instructables.com/id/I-can-make-that-maternity-pants-from-any-used-pant/

I've also seen people post about this person's etsy page, "BellyJeans" (she takes your pants and does all the work for you): https://www.etsy.com/shop/BellyJeans

  • I just ordered some from Motherhood and am hoping they are long enough. I have very long legs and finding jeans can be a pain. I did get an email from Motherhood today about 30% off so maybe now would be a good time to order some :)

  • I'm 5'8 and last pregnancy I ordered pants in long/tall from Motherhood. I had to hem them to make them the right length so maybe they would be the perfect length for you.

  • I'm 6'0" and I found the tall Gap dress pants to fit perfectly (not long, but tall).
  • I'm 5'10" and Gap longs work for me, at least for jeans. Find a store that carries maternity and you can try them on, for sure - they definitely vary from style to style.

thanks!!! I guess it's almost time to bust out the sewing machine and get creative :)

  • I am almost 6' and I found a pair of gap tall's at an upscale resale shop. They are perfect! The reviews I read on the gap website for their tall pants says that they run pretty long (some say too long). Good luck!

  • I was just at Motherhood and I tried on 6 pairs of their "long" jeans and I only found 1 that will barely be long enough for flats!
I'm 5'10" and usually a 34 is as short as I can go.
  • SAME problem!! Im 5'10 and was 135lbs before pregnancy. I bought a pair from Motherhood that were "longs" that were just long enough. Once I washed them, they shrunk in length- OF COURSE! I know better, but I find that to get them fit nicely they need to be dried. I havent found a pair that fits nicely yet.

Good luck on your search! The Gap I visited didnt have maternity clothing... so frustrating. haha.
