House temp & PJs

I keep the house temp at 71 degrees. LO sleeps in a onesie and a thick long sleeve blanket sack. Her hands are like ice in the morning. Should I put her in a long sleeve sleeper with the long sleeve blanket sack? It still would not cover her hands but maybe keep her warmer.

Re: House temp & PJs

  • I put those little mittens on LO. Our house is about the same temp and she wears the same pjs.

  • My LOs body is nice and warm in footy PJs and a fleece sleep sack. Her hands are still like ice in the AM. Not sure warmer pjs will help you either.
  • My LO's hands get chilly too. We keep it at 71 but I know he's warm because we do a footed pj and the sleep suit. Maybe you could try a footer sleeper? I always check his chest and make sure he's warm. If its just the hands you could do socks or mittens on them. I feel like a baby won't sleep good if they are too hot or cold so if she's sleeping well I wouldn't worry.

  • We do a footed sleeper at night. I think as long as their core is warm then it's ok because their hands/feet have poor circulation.
  • We keep it at 71 also. I put her in a long sleeved footed sleeper with a sleeveless sleep sack over it. She is plenty warm.

  • My pedi said as long as LO's core temp stays up it's ok for his hands to get cold.  I think what you're doing is perfect.

  • Same as others (footy jammies and fleece sleep sack) and her hands are usually chilly in the morning. But her cheeks, ears, nose are always warm so I don't worry about it.
