So, I bowed to peer pressure and scheduled professional pics Saturday morning for DS and DSS. I feel like everyone I know is getting professional pictures done. It seems like not that long ago you *might* get a school pic tucked in your Christmas card. Then people slowly started with the photo cards, using candids. Now this. Is it like this in your circles? I feel sort of foolish, but then again I know I will love the pics and have them forever.

Humm ... I don't think I felt pressure per say, but realized in the past few years it was something that I wanted and worth the investment (as long as the price was within reason). I guess the reasoning is that I do have regrets about our wedding photos. We got married 11 years ago, and photographers were just starting to use digital. It was at a time when you had to decide if you wanted to hire someone who used digital or someone who used film. (ug, that makes me sound old!) I opted for film. IMO at the time digital was still too new, too expensive, and too grainy. Alot changed quickly after that and the images were alot better! Friends who got married only a few years after me did digital. My friends got like 10x more pics than I did (since my photographer package included a certain number of rolls of film). So I didn't have a lot of candids - most of my wedding photos are the "staged" kind. Don't get me wrong, I love my wedding photos, but wish there was a little bit more to them. I wish I had some artsy ones.
When I was pregnant I found a local photographer who had resonable prices. So I signed up for a pregnancy session and a newborn session. I was so impressed with what I got, that now I am hooked! After we did those two, I signed up for more! In DDs first year we did a few session: newborn, christmas, 6 months, and 1 year. We just did this years christmas photos last weekend. I think next year we might just do one at christmas time.
Don't get me wrong, I take a million pictures, and if I'm lucky I might get one decent one. But I like having some really good ones to documnet her first year! My DH has already told me that next year I can't schedule as many! LOL!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
