NBR: Private Duty Nurse/Nurse assistance after surgery

NBR/Xpost:

Does anyone know where I might find a private duty nurse for hire for one night or one day? I need someone to assist me after my surgery on Jan. 16th. I'd preferably need the nurse to accompany me to the surgery center in the morning and at home in the afternoon. They could leave after I got home. I am prepared to pay the going rates. (I know they aren't cheap!) Are any of the nurses here possibly interested?

  • I can't do it, but I have a ton of friends that work in OR/PACU *recovery" and they may be interested.  It might be cheaper that way than to go with an agency.  I could ask around if you like.  There are several of them that do not work Fridays.  Just let me know if you want me to ask.  You can email me at contactmikeandkelly at yahoo dot com

  • Have you checked with the surgery center yet?  A friend of mine had a tummy tuck a couple of years ago and I believe she found her overnight nurse throught the facility she had her surgery.

  • Thanks, ya'll. I'm going to call my surgeon on Monday to find out if there are any nurses they use, but I'm pursuing all avenues right now! My back up to the back up plan is to have a friend's partner help me (if he doesn't have a full time job then. He's picking up odd jobs to make money. I've known him for a few years, and he's a great guy....)

  • I'm not a nurse, but I might be available that day. I just gave notice to my job so that I can go back to school in Jan.
