Gift ideas for non family members

I apologize for the lame title of this post, haha. But what I really am wondering is if anyone has gift suggestions for babysitters and others. I'd like to do more than just a gift card.

Our babysitter already told us her gift to us is a free night whenever we'd like. So I'd like to give her something nice. Also I'd like to give something to each of our 2 employees and our mail lady. She always brings stuff right to our door (she likes to say hi to Norman, our pig) and she's super sweet.

Any suggestions?

  • When I babysat, I loved when the kids did something. Maybe a handprint ornament? As for your mail lady, would Norman be willing to paint a card for her? I don't have any ideas for your employees.

Lol, actually that is a good idea! Our coati has painted on a canvas so we could help Norman do something possibly. I just cringe now thinking of the mess that I'll have to clean up!
  • For a babysitter I would give $50 in a card. Everyone can always use money!

I like bath and body works stuff too. For coworkers I usually get those plug in scent wallflowers. It's a nice cheap gift. Good luck!
  • Scented candles, wine, silk scarf or jewelry - these are the options I consider for babysitter

  • Scarves/pashminas are always a good idea (or nice gloves).  I know you said no gift cards, but, what about gift cards to the movies?  Those are always well appreciated since the movies are insanely expensive.  Whenever I need ideas I browse Etsy, you can always find something there.

  • Wine if they are wine drinkers - even make it a gift basket with wine, cheese and crackers. A nice coffee gift basket? Travel mug, a couple different kinds of coffee. I like the movie gift card idea and maybe you could give something small additionally like some baked goods.

And if you get your pig to paint a picture please post it because that's awesome :). The Indianapolis Zoo has artwork by some of its animals and it's quite good!! They do an auction with it every year.

@britbratjf or a basket of wine and Doritos! Right, @missmusic? :)

I have one friend who always likes to exchange gifts. I think it's so sweet but catches me off guard every year. I think I'm going to go with a Hobby Lobby gift card or something this year because she just moved into a new house.
