CP - Pecan Pronunciation

All this talk of pie has me wondering, how do you ladies say "pecan"?

    I say peh-kahn. I'm from the South, but I have no idea if that's the typical Southern way to say it or not. I've honestly never really paid attention!

    I usually say pee-kahn, but if I'm thinking about it and trying to sound fancy, I'll say peh-kahn. I have no idea why that sounds fancier to me.

    7/2014 Adding probable tubal factor to the diagnosis list
    9/2014 And now adding hypothyroid to the list- Started synthroid 9/2014
    Cycles 1-4 - Sept.-March- All Anovulatory 
    IUI #1 March/April-  Clomid 50mg + Clomid 100mg +Trigger + IUI #1 = BFN
     IUI #2 April/May-Clomid 100mg + Clomid 150mg + Trigger + IUI #2 + Endometrin=BFN
    IUI #3- June- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3  Benched due to a 40 mm cyst. :-(
    IUI #3- July- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3 + Endometrin = BFP! on 7/25/14
    Slowly rising betas - Ectopic suspected on 8/8/14 & confirmed on 8/11/14
    Methotrexate on 8/12/14 -HCG negative on 9/2/14
    IVF #1- November- Antagonist protocol: 11/1: start stims, 200iu of Follistim; 11/12 ER 17R/14M/14F; 11/17 5 day transfer of two blasts, 2 blasts and 2 expanding morulas frozen; 11/22 BFP!! (On FRER at 5dp5dt)
    Betas: 9dp5dt 205, 11dp5dt 497, 14dp5dt 1,709
    u/s at 5w0d- 1 sac; u/s at 6w0d 1 baby with heartbeat, another sac without a heartbeat

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.

    Same for me. And the Keebler cookies are called Pee-can Sandies. Peh-kahn Sandies just doesn't work.

    Yes.  Although, when they're in a bag, they're peh-cans, because that's what the peh-can company in town that sells them says.

    I say peh-KAHN but I have no idea what a tree looks like!  ;) I also say on-DEEV (endive) and grah-TAN (gratin). I want to say PAH-pri-kah (paprika) but never quite remember. Ha.

    I say Pee-Can. My sister has spent a lot of time in the south a she reports that a lot of her southern friends mother's tell her that "We don't pee in cans here... but we do eat peh-kahn piiiess..."
