For Thanksgiving dinner?
my typical dinner looks like this: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, candied yams, cranjello, rolls, fruit salad, and some kinda green veggie side.
My desserts are pumpkin pie, apple pie, cherry pie and pecan pie.
I'm kinda get tired of eating the same thing year after year. Mh hates to change things up and likes the traditional meal.
if i change one side or two is not going to kill him, so i wanna know what you do, and what's your favorite dish that is different then i listed above?
Re: whatcha cookin?
I'm in the process of making my list so i can get my stuff today before everyone buys up the store.
@amtobey Those green beans sound delish! I was actually going to search a new recipe today, but I think I'm going to try those. YUM!
My MIL makes amazing mashed potatoes and homemade stuffing. I'll be making the turkey, some kind of sweet potato something (roasted, casserole...not sure yet), and a new recipe I found for homemade cranberry sauce. Ahhh I can't wait for my house to be filled with all these smells!!
We do cranberry "relish" (a bag of whole cranberries, an orange or 2, sugar to taste, into the food processor for a few pulses) and it is my favorite dish. Other stand outs are my grandmother's kick @ss mashed potatoes, and my husband's deep fried turkeys.
I am on the hunt for a good stuffing/dressing recipe, if anyone has one they wouldn't mind sharing.
Ok. I have finally nailed down our menu this year...

@wasnotwas NEVAR!
Actually, that stuff is pretty good. I'll probably do both because who doesn't like a little bite o'turkey and jiggly cranberry jello stuff? Amirite??

We serve it as a side and then people tell us it is supposed to be dessert. If you want the full recipe I can PM you when DH gets home. I know I'm forgetting one or two ingredients.
And did you order/pay for said book?
If it was purchased in a store then ignore this. I used to work customer service for Taste of Home and it was an unforgettable experience.
Also this may be on of the recipes I've tried as it looks familiar and it was fabulous. But then again I have made tons of different similar things.

Haha no nothing like that. We would get people who "never ordered them" and won't pay for them because they "legally" don't have to. That was 90% of our call volume
