TTC after 35

McIrish! (alert: baby mentioned, and an apparently undeletable ticker)

McIrish!!!! I just happened to log on after months and months and months and see that you are going for it again -- I am thrilled for you and have, as always, everything crossed for you!

Hi to everyone else who remembers me. Short update: Calliope (Callie) is almost 15 months old and full of beans. She is walking like a champ, loves monkeys and all kinds of music, has been taking baby swim lessons since February, and has learned how to clink her sippy cup to do a "cheers" before mommy or daddy takes a much-needed swig of beer. Obviously there's lots more to say but for those on this board who are doing or who one day might contemplate DE, I just want to say, again: it's so worth it (when it works, obviously, which we all know it doesn't always). I/we have no regrets except not having had Miss Callie in our lives sooner. She's just like her mommy, by the way -- I see myself in her at every turn. Except for the now wavy auburn hair (which was straight and black at birth and never fell out -- she's had 4 haircuts or something by now).

Apologies to anyone who clicked on this out of curiosity despite my title's warning and now feels badly. Not my intention at all -- and I do know how it feels.

Hugs to all in the trenches. Been there. Keeping my siggy forever as proof.

Back to (very very very rare) lurking on McIrish's and other old-timers' behalfs!

Re: McIrish! (alert: baby mentioned, and an apparently undeletable ticker)

  • Oh for pete's sake -- I carefully deleted my ticker before I posted the above, saw that it didn't delete, just tried to delete it again, and it is vanished from where I can edit my signature, but still not deleted in my posts. Yikes. And apologies. Stupid Bump interface. 104 weeks pregnant. WTF.

  • Hi Coop!!!!!  So wonderful to hear from you!  I'm glad that you and Calliope are doing well!  I wondered about how you were doing often.  Thanks for checking in and giving encouragement!  I am planning for IVF in the New Year and think I would consider DE if it doesn't work out.  Hearing your success story helps a lot!  Big hugs!

  • A gigantic hello to LHCooper!!! It's awesome to hear for you and that Callie is thriving. It's also great to hear that DE was the right choice for you. Honestly, I have no problem with DE. My families genes basically suck so I could care less. I just need it to freaking work!!! Anyway, we have a much better chance this time since we are going to RBA with the live birth guarantee program. I picked a donor last week and am waiting for AF to arrive. Our tentative date is to transfer on 1/11/14... Waving to all my other friends:-) Ps: you can update your signature by going to the little person's head under Community on the upper right hand side. It says "preferences". Click on that and then there is a list on the left side that says "signature settings". You can update there. The old way doesn't work now. They should remove it since it doesn't work....
