I have been making my own baby purees and we have done all veggies/fruits. I still have so much frozen to use up but I was curious if people had done meats yet and how you are making them or when you plan to introduce them.

At our 6 month appointment we were given the green light for meats. I'm not ready for that though. However I'm sure someone will give her Turkey next week.
We got the green light at her 6 month visit last week and introduced Turkey on Saturday. She wasn't a fan. We mixed it with some peas last night and she took it pretty well. The issue I am having is that our doctor wants us to do single ingredients until she has been exposed to them all and then do blends, except beech nut and gerber are the only brands I have found that let the meat stand alone. I made a bunch of veggie purees, so I may try to do the meats too.
We've already started. I have given her chicken shredded to suck on, I've puréed beef stew, chicken and veggies, lamb stew (she loved this). I've also flaked in some fish in with her mashed potatoes and peas.
At first the texture threw her off guard but she enjoys them now. I don't really need to give her super smooth purées anymore, I leave things slightly lumpy.
So far she's loved them all. We're doing a lentil dish tomorrow.
Edit: when I say I puréed the meat it's not smooth. It has tiny bits of texture, almost like it's shredded but smaller.
We are starting with meat because that's the recommendation in Canada. We plan to start with beef in a week or so. I'm going to puree my own vegetables and fruit but not meat, I'll just buy the organic stuff.
I'm not planning too. We don't eat meat. Fingers crossed I don't end up with a picky eater, so it will be relative easy to give him a meat free balanced diet.

So that's what it is...I thought I was crazy saying thy I was doing meat so soon but I guess it's just cause we Canucks do things differently. Thanks for pointing that out!!!
