I have been putting LO down for a nap after about two hours of wakefulness (sometimes less if he gets cranky sooner.) I read the Healthy Sleep Habits book and I thought the wakefulness guidelines were really helpful. (not the CIO part)
I think the author says that the naps should start to get longer at around six months and more predictable but I have not found that to be the case yet. LO is a June 3 baby with a due date of May 17 so I am not sure if maybe he is tracking closer to his birth date rather than his due date.
Any way he naps for 40 minutes to an hour after about two hours of wakefulness and takes at least three to four naps a day depending on when he wakes up for the day.
I have been getting side eyed by some other moms when I tell them how many naps he takes so I am wondering if anyone else's LO does the same thing or if we are an outlier here.
Re: Lots of naps club?

We are in the exact same boat, I've been trying to get up the courage to stop lurking and post about it... She takes 4 - 40 minute naps a day. She is a May 17 baby, so just turned 6 months and has been like this for the last 2-3 months. Every time I decide I should just roll with what works and makes her happy then I get side eyed by someone who thinks her nap schedule is crazy.
I'm curious... do your babies with similar nap routines get a lot of sleep at night? She gets a solid 11.5 - 12.5 hours a night, so I think she just doesn't need a lot of sleep during the day, but still needs a little snooze every 2 hours to keep her refreshed.
@AllieAGame my LO was up at 5:00 this morning! I think he is now on his third nap. You definitely have a bed full of amaze balls!
