We use the Summer Infant duo one. No complaints! I can't imagine it compromises the safety - it doesn't interfere with the latch at all. And I have leather seats, so I can't imagine NOT using one.
No complaints. I was worried about it not staying up on the back of the seat since there is nothign to "attach" it there but it's been fine. We have leather and there was no way I wasn't goign to have one especially RF. No compromise in safety that I'm aware of! Congrats on the car! What did you get?

@Pokedot - thanks! I got a 2014 Nissan Altima. I love it so far, but I have been scared to drive it. I've never had a brand new car before now.

Haha thats funny! Well you better get used to it! We have a Nissan Xterra. DH got it brand new before we met. Runs great! The Altimas are beautiful cares! Enjoy!
The safety worries me a little, based on basically no research so take that with a grain of salt. What kind of seat do you have? If I did get one I would get the Britax one to go with my Britax seat because I as far as I understand they have been crash tested together.
Also, do these compromise the safety of the carseat at all? One of the reviews said so... :-/
They can. The big problem is that they can mask a bad install by making you think you can't move the seat more than an inch. And unless it is an accessory sold by your car seat manufacturer, it was not crash tested with your seat. Even some accessories sold by the manufacturer is not crash tested, so do your research.
As with anything, do what you feel is best. I have the Prince Lionheart 2 piece one.
