This is becoming more of an UO it seems... I refuse to decorate for Christmas in any way, shape or form before Thanksgiving. Some of the houses in my neighborhood have Christmas lights up! Just wrong! Seems more people are starting earlier and earlier.
Whenever I watched movies as a kid I always secretly rooted for the bad guy. I still do sometimes. I don't know, maybe I have a subconscious thing for bad boys and evil. Besides, Prince Charming was ugly anyways.
No amount of shopping should cause stores to be open on thanksgiving just to get customers a good deal.
Agreed. That makes me sad for retail works and their families. My husband is working on Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, but I married him knowing that he can work any day of the year, so I can't complain.

THANK YOU! SERIOUSLY!! My husband asked if I wanted him to bring down the decorations and I had to nicely inform him that Christmas does not begin until after Thanksgiving! Fall decor will remain intact!

I prefer cold weather to hot weather. I love the thought of having to bundle up in a big jacket, scarfs ect....and to get a coffee and just walk.. I love it.

Normally I agree with you, however I'm angry that Thanksgiving isn't today. Being next week shortens the Christmas season a week. :-)
I love Christmas but I totally agree that no decorations should go up till after Thanksgiving. Until Santa shows up at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade there should be no Christmas decorations.
My UO: Black Friday used to be the start of the Christmas shopping season and you would go out and by presents for OTHERS. Now it's about getting yourself the biggest TV. I wish it would go back to being about giving instead of getting.
My holiday-ish UO, I think peppermint drinks/coffee creamers are disgusting. Leaves such a gross aftertaste. But on that note, did you hear Starbucks has introduced a Harry Potter Butterbeer on their secret menu? Eta words
My uo is that I think places should be open on holidays. And the reason for that is A) some people want to work for the extra pay and hours and some people don't have family. If I didn't have family, the last thing id want to do is be stuck at home dwelling on the holiday alone when I could be shopping or atleast going out to eat. I use to serve old singles on thanksgiving all the time, they enjoy the company on holidays and can't always get it. Yes, they are people who want off, my dad always works holidays but that came with the job.
My DH was asking what I want for my birthday and I suggested a new pair of jeans. I gave him my size and what brand I wanted and specified absolutely no "miss me" jeans. I think all the bling on the back pockets is hidious. It seems like those jeans are for annoying people who want their butts to be stared at.
My UO... My Xmas decor is up. I'm that lady. I'll own it.
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!

We do have our lights up but only because we put them up before it gets too cold here, but I refuse to turn them on before Thanksgiving! Christmas decorations are down from the attic but still in the garage. They're calling my name though!
My UO: I don't care if people put Xmas decor up early or leave it up after NYE. I don't mind if businesses offer pumpkin spice everything. It doesn't bother me when/if stores open on holidays.
I just feel those things don't impact me. I worked every single holiday last year (for no extra pay) and we just did our celebrating on different days. It's not only retailers who work that day, those in the medical field, hospitality and emergency services have to work too.
I agree that decorations shouldn't go up until after thanksgiving! And I too dislike Beyoncé, and her full of her self fake baby having -ish.
My UO: while I get people are trying to be helpful and informative, this board has been kind of a buzz kill and sad with the child abuse and Instagram role play stuff for parts of the last week or so. Sort of sucked the fun out of a lot of the fun posts. Last night was the first time is smiled because of the fun posts in awhile.
It makes me sad when everyone goes on a MIL rant. I couldn't imagine my life without my grandparents and I am so glad my parents never kept me from or talked bad about their respective inlaws.
I hope when our LOs are older the MIL rants get less and they get more time w/ their grandbabies.

I hope unicorns come to mow my lawn for me next summer, which is more likely than my MIL being less BSC with time.

@lemsa I ranted a lot when Lucas was a newborn/infant. Mine was out of jealousy because she got to watch him during the day while I worked. I didn't want to stay home, but I was still jealous. It was also a lot of hormones and feeling like she was questioning everything I do. Even though we have an odd relationship, I can't imagine my kids not having a relationship with her. Yeah she annoys me, but let's be honest most people annoy me.

My DH just pointed this out to me last night! I wish Thanksgiving was today too!
I don't think "month" milestone pictures have to be taken on the specific date of LO's birth. I mean they are 3 months for the entire month not just that day.

I used to love working holidays because it was double time and a half and it have me a nice chunk of money.
Re: UO Thursday
From reading all the TMI threads it would appear that I'm in the minority on this topic, however, I live by this 100%.
I get that she is gorgeous but she has gone from nice girl to stuck up.
I know I know ... To many this is blasphemy ... I am sorry
I don't really have one.
But my baby is licking my hand right now, and I'm totally allowing it.

Don't you ever for a second get to thinking, you're irreplaceable. O:-)
