Husband job vent

My husband works third shift 7pm-7am sleeps till 3pm. It's an hour to his job from home so we only get 3 hours with him when he works. DD has a cold and wants to be held constantly and wakes up every hr to hr and a half. It would be so nice to have help I can't even pee without her in my arms at night, she wants me by her all night. She is able to play independently during the day for a while but night all she wants are cuddles. It's not that I don't like cuddles I would just like a break Sorry just wanted to vent

  • Aww. It's so tough when the babies are sick. :( Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Oh, and make sure you're drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods (lots of good veggies and fruits), to stave off that cold. I always feel "doomed" when DS gets a cold and becomes human Velcro with the snuggle need. ;)

Well the good thing is she is only 10 months so I'm still breastfeeding her. I've heard I produce antibodies to help her so it's less likely to get her sick when breastfeeding and less likely for her to get me sick too. But man am I tired

  • Aww, I so feel you.  DH has been working 7p-7a for the last month and will until February (normally he's 7a-3p).  I'm planning a nice relaxing getaway for the 3 of us sometime in February when he'll finally be able to take a week off (deserted golf resort with an indoor pool and in-room hot tub near Myrtle Beach).

DD just developed a cough for the first time Sunday afternoon after a fun day at the zoo - come Monday morning, we find out that another little boy at DC has croup.  Cue FTM panic, call to Ped's office, only to find out that it's not that big a deal, isn't horribly contagious and even if she has it will probably get better on it's own.

She's still waking herself up often during the night, but goes right back to sleep with some nursing.  Wish I could go back to sleep so easily!  The cough is much better, but it scares her, so she's much clingier than usual.

Yeah my DH has worked this schedule for over a year now. I feel like a single mom most of the time (I don't know how they do it). Luckily, we are planning to move where my family is before baby #2 gets here so I can have some help, just in case he gets another third shift. This is DD's first cold too, and on top of that I'm pretty sure she is teething (still no teeth). It has been so rough, no sleep, and my house is a mess. Hopefully, when he wakes up today he will take care of her so I can clean.
