  • Hot shower, heating pad to forehead, sleep/rest and plenty of fluids. Also try emergen-c immune packets. I swear those are what got me through my last head cold. FX it goes away soon!

My dr said sudafed was ok as long as my BP was OK. It can increase your BP a little bit, just FYI! :)

And I feel your sinus pain! I've been on augmentin for a week and am still stuffy! Boo colds!
  • Sudafed is the only thing that works for me right now. Good luck and hope you find some relief.

Ask your doc about the emergen-c - mine said those were a no-no while pregnant. Before getting pregnant i swore by those and zicam so it was pretty upsetting ;(

My doc did ok sudafed though - that helped at least get things moving, neti-pot several times a day and lots of water!
  • Benadryl. Added bonus of helping you sleep :)

Ditto this. ER-C is a no-go but Sudafed is fine. That's what got me through a couple months ago.

  • I went Sudafed free when I got sick because I'm already taking a Class C drug for another indication and just didn't want to put another one in my body.

Vicks VapoRub was my other husband when I was sick. I really, really, really believe that stuff works wonders. I also put it on my feet with socks over top at night and I swear it settles a cough.

  • Try sitting in the bathroom with the shower running super hot. Don't sit in the shower. Just let the steam surround you. Or use a humidifier. I love to sleep with my face right next to ours while I'm sick
  • Thanks ladies - think I'll be heading out to buy a humidifier and some sudafed and benadryl...
  • Totally feel for you! Except I have the flu at 33 weeks :( feeling like absolute death.

  • Yup, been sick so many times this pregnancy thanks to DS being in MMO.  Sudafed, Vicks VaporRub, Benedryl, and a humidifier are pretty much essential.
