Our house is cold and I'm worried that LO isn't warm enough. I've been swaddling in am adin and anis blanket and covering with a crocheted blanket. Tonight he managed to get his head covered. I now have double swaddled but what are you all doing? LO grew out of the Velcro swaddlers
We keep our house at 70 and he sleeps in a cotton sleeper and a fleece sleep sack. He never liked being swaddled and had not been since a few hours after being born.
We keep our house around 68 at nighttime. LO wears a cotton footed sleeper and is swaddled in a jersey cotton blanket or a&a blanket. Anything more and I'd be afraid he may overheat.
If they are too cold they will fuss and tell you! I'm more concerned about overheating. I am in Colorado and keep the house around 69, we do a footed pj and 1 a&a swaddle and no complaints from the LO.
We swaddle then cover with a crocheted blanket that is tucked under the crib mattress so it isn't loose. It doesn't get too cold here, mostly we do it so she feels like she's being held.
@snowboarderbritt our house is 67 also. He doesn't seem uncomfortable but his face is always cold I did the cotton footed sleeper and 2AA blankets last night and it worked great!
@brittanycupcakes I love the idea of tucking the blanket under the mattress I worry he would wiggle under it though he manages to turn sideways at night and is only 7 weeks tomorrow."

Carmen is only 5 weeks. We haven't had any problems. She ends up kicking out of it after awhile, but hasn't managed to turn yet. She just pushes herself up.
There are plenty of other swaddles that he can fit into. Unless he's a year old or huge, there are more velcro his size. Target, BRU, Walmart - they all have them.
We are in an apt with central heating that we don't control. This time of year the temp fluctuates like crazy. When it is colder, footed pjs and a swaddle me cotton swaddle (it has velcro). When warmer, sort sleeve on-site with no legs or just naked and the swaddle. It is annoying because every day we discuss what is appropriate.
I was just reading the other day that you can't judge whether your baby is cold by hands and feet. Hands and feet are one of the last places that circulation fully kicks in so before three months you want to judge if they are cold or not by their torso.
I have the heat on in our room and keep the door closed. I put her in a sleeper sometimes, usually just a onesie and leggings though and then her bottom half wrapped up because her feet get cold. It gets super cozy in my room and I'm fine in a tank top.
I was using the Aden&anais swaddlers at first because we have like 10, but it seemed that LO would wiggle out and it made me nervous to have lose blankets by his face. We currently are using the Velcro swaddlers as well as the Woombie. They have larger sizes and I LOVE that he can't wiggle out of them. Makes him (and me) sleep better at night. Also, since he can't fling around his arms I feel better about wrapping a blanket around him for warmth. Have you seen the woombie before? My girlfriends turned me onto it and they swear by it.
We keep the room at 70-72 ... She wears a onsie w the coverd hands sometime a pair of socks.I swaddle once but this week I started to dbl swaddle again because she kicks her way out of the swaddle and I don't want her to get cold and wake up , so I cover her w a light blanket up to her torso. I use A&A also.
We always kept our house in the upper 60s before LO, but now I insist on 70-72. DH thinks it's sweltering, lol. Anyway, LO likes to be swaddled, so I always put her in jersey PJs instead of fleece. I just feel like fleece & a swaddle would be too hot.
