Pjs wwyd?

So Alex is super long and growing like a weed. His 9 month footed pjs are now too short - his toes get smooshed when he straightens his legs. He's only been wearing them a couple weeks. I'm trying to save money because we went down to one income.

So here's my question, would you cut the feet off the 9 month pjs in hopes of getting another week or two out of them, or save them as they are for a possible future baby and just buy 12 month pjs?

Sorry, my sleep deprived brain just can't decide which makes more sense.

  • There is a local buy and sell Facebook page in my town (maybe you have something similar?) I honestly bought a huge garbage bag full of clothes (about 200 pieces, including onesies, shirts, sleepers, pants, etc) in 9m and 12 m sizes from a girl who's baby had just outgrown them. I'm keeping my eyes out for another deal like that for the next sizes up.

  • I'd buy 12 months as even if you have another baby they would need 12 month PJs too, and if you cut the feet off you'd need 9 and 12 months for them! I buy almost everything off of a local swap page on FB. If it's the right person or lot of clothing the jammies will be in great condition. Condition shouldn't even matter anymore since my boys destroy all their clothing anyway!

  • I agree with buying new ones and doing it through eBay or Craigslist (or watch Carters for great coupons).  You could also just put him in onesies and soft pants with socks and a sleep sack.

  • I'd buy 12 month pj's. But I know for sure I want to try for a #2.
  • Buy footless 12 month pjs!

  • I would save the 9 month but buy sleep sacks/bags to fit 12 months plus.  You can get a lot more mileage out of the sacks!

  • If the 9 mo are button up pjs you could just slip his feet out and not button the bottom button on each side... Then put socks on him or no socks if he's also in a sleep sac. I got a pair of footies at Carter's for $5.99 today! I think that's a great deal. But, consignment shop or Craigslist will definitely get you an even better deal. I only got Carter's cause I had a gift card.
