Sizing question

DS wears 12-18 month clothes - he is just getting into strictly 18 month size.  There is a Just Between Friends sale this weekend for winter clothes.  I live in MN, where it stays cold until March usually...sometimes May.  He is set for 18 month, but do you think I should get him winter stuff in 24 month size?  It is so hard to know!  His growing is definitely slowing down.

Thanks!

Re: Sizing question

  • Chicago here, and my LO is in the 97th percentile for height, so I feel ya! I have 18 month clothes, but bought cardigans and her heavy winter coat in 24/2T. I plan to layer cardigans over her clothes if the sleeves get short and I really wanted the coat to last through spring since it is god awful cold up until then. Don't buy a lot of things bigger than that. If you do, buy spring or summer things and then layer them up!

  • I would do a bigger size in shirts and jackets that you can roll the sleeves up.
  • Maybe a couple pairs of pants in the bigger size? When I wear ds in the carrier or have him in the stroller, the pant legs ride up and leave his lower legs exposed, so I prefer pants that are a little big, and then I can cuff them or uncuff them if he needs extra length.

  • I would buy both sizes.  You never know!
  • DD is the same way. I bought all her winter clothes in 24 month because I knew there was no way 18 months would fit until May when it is warm enough to start wearing short sleeves. I just cuff her pants and shirt sleeves and she is set to go!
