Perfecting the karate chop to keep hands away!

I am new to the message boards, and I felt like I needed somewhere new to chat/vent/explore, in order to give my poor husband a break! ;) I am 22 weeks, and my bump has exploded over the past 2.5 weeks or so. I'm now at the point that people are CONSTANTLY commenting on it - even some of my co-workers who I see every single day. I am trying to just tell myself that they're excited for me, and that I need to let them show their excitement without rolling my eyes or giving a sarcastic comment all the time. As you can tell, I am definitely not one who really understands the whole obsession with pregnant people! lol Now that my bump is getting bigger, faster, people are starting to reach a point where I can tell they want to touch it. Just the other day, my boss came over and touched it, being the first one other than my husband to do so. It makes me physically (and emotionally) uncomfortable, and I'm trying to figure out gracious ways to ask people not to touch me, before their hands find their way to my stomach! Any advice?? Again, I know that they're excited for me, but I am just really not into it and need help!!! ;)

  • I move their  hands away. If They're really aggro, I touch them back in a place that would make them feel uncomfortable  :)

  • My sister works at a bank, been there for 21 years. She had regular customers that she knew by name on site and vice versa, usually the older ladies, that likes to touch her bump. She would just politely say 'No, thank you' and that seemed to work.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • I spread the word to my husband, sis, and mom that if anyone tries to touch me they might lose an arm :) Hopefully, they will make everyone aware. I really don't understand the need to invade someone's personal space. I've always been a little self conscious of my abdominal area anyway, so it just makes me feel awkward. I almost wish I was in PA where it is illegal to touch a pregnant woman's belly. They can actually dial 911!
  • I'm all about "Don't touch me". It wasn't okay to touch me x months ago, it's still not okay now. I don't apologize, they should be the one apologizing.

  • Yeesh, that's horrible.  I can't imagine people doing that in a professional or even social environment.  I always asked.
