If you send food to DC..

Need some ideas. Ds is 10 months old and I send his food to day care (they do provide I'm just not a fan of the options ). Lunch we are good but for breakfast I'm stuck. I've been sending yogurt and blueberries but want to switch it up. At home he loves eggs and toast but those are weird things to reheat and I can't think of other ideas. What are your go tos?

Re: If you send food to DC..

  • Scrambled eggs are fine to reheat.  I make 2-3 days worth for myself and refrigerate them in single serving containers.  I send DD with oatmeal or rice cereal for breakfast.  You could try other fruits, too.  Add some cheerios, perhaps?

  • Nutrigrain bars, or even cold waffles. If my kid hasn't finished her waffle, I'll take it with us, and she's never had a probably eating it cold.

  • Boiled eggs, whole grain waffles, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt.

Also, I feed my kid pretty much the same thing every day for breakfast: some combination of scrambled eggs, yogurt, banana, whole grain waffle. He gets 2 or 3 of the above. I eat the same thing everyday for breakfast so why can't he?

  • DS loves yogurt, so he gets one every day.  Plus it's easy!  Along with that he gets some sort of fruit (banana, blueberries, raspberries, etc.) and a waffle, pancake, french toast sticks, 1/2 a muffin, dry cereal, etc.  He loves breakfast and eats every bite.

Oh and scrambled eggs reheat just fine, actually.  I also prep the waffle or pancake with a little cream cheese or jam right before leaving for work.  By the time he eats bfast at DC, it is fine, no need to reheat.

  • We usually eat at home, but there are some multiberry flax seed waffles that DS really likes when you put cream cheese on it. They are gluten free so they're sold in that section of the grocery store.
We also do multigrain toast or slim bagels with cream cheese.
