Pink eye

Both my boys have pink eye, but my trouble is DS2. How do you keep a 13 month old from rubbing their eyes?! I'm washing his hands or using hand sanitizer every 10 minutes as well as spraying Lysol everywhere!!!

Re: Pink eye

  • Um you don't I guess. I'm guessing he is on medication, so that will take care of the infection.  Just clean everything as you can. DD just had pink eye last week and we cleaned things once or twice and moved on. Now you're making me worried...was I not vigilant enough?

  • I'm sure if she hasn't had a relapse you did everything fine. DS2 is just all over the place, rubbing his face on everything and everyone so I feel like I can't get everything cleaned off!

  • We are just going through this.  This is the second time LO has had pink eye.  The first time was when she was about 11 months.  I was moderately good about cleaning things and she never got it again.  I washed/changed her sheets/towels and wiped some of her toys.  We are on day 3 treatment for pink eye. Fortunatly, LO is not rubbing them very much but they are red and weepy.  I am just sanitizing/cleaning and washing as much as I can.
